I am still working on my studies in between as well. I got approval to work on the herbalist test 1. I am hoping to get started on that this afternoon or tomorrow. I ordered a couple of books from the bookstore. I ordered To Ride A Silver Broomstick by Silver Ravenwolf and Wicca: A guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham. I am excited to receive them. I also ordered the Pentacle Chest of Witchcraft. It's on backorder for a few weeks but I am very anxious to have a place to store the items I have been collecting.

I attended the Ostara Ritual on Friday night at Sacred Mists. This was my second ritual that I have attended at the Mists. Before the ritual I took a nice long meditative bath with candles and eucalyptus spearmint bubbles and wash to clear my mind and help me get focused for the ritual. I set up the area around my laptop with some springtime candles, my crystal, and the pearls that my grandfather had given me. I arrived about a half hour early to get settled and say hello to everyone. I was not nervous at all this time but excited and very much looking forward to the ritual. I got ready by grounding and centering and anxiously awaited Lady Raven.
Lady Raven arrived and opened the ceremony by greeting us all and helping to guide anyone that was experiencing their first ritual. Then she turned the ceremony over to Ellwyn Moonstone.
Ellwyn Moonstone led us through a beautifull opening meditation. I found myself deeply relaxed and completely enjoying the meditation as she led us through it. It’s amazing how clear and focused I was I actually felt as if I was in the places that she spoke of. She led us through a meadow full of wildflowers, and collecting flowers in a basket. We saw a little bunny who played with us a little bit then scampered off to the forest in the distance. I followed the bunny to the forest collecting beautifull eggs and wildflowers along the way. Upon entering the forest I saw a group of faeries dancing among the trees and leading the way to a clearing in the forest. Once in the clearing I found the Goddess Eostra who led the way to the circle where everyone from the Mists was meeting.
At this point Lady Raven took back over the ceremony and cast the circle for our ritual. Lady Raven led us through an additional meditation that I found to be an absolutely amazing experience. I have felt for quite some time that the Goddess Isis has been with me and I had this confirmed for me during the meditation that Lady Raven led. She led us through pagan easter egg hunt and helped us to create an Ostara basket. Along that walk the road forked. As soon as she mentioned the fork in the road I had this overwhelming feeling and actually had tears streaming down the face as I felt the Goddess say to me, see we have been listening to you. You are being heard and you are not alone.
I have had a lot going on in my life right now and this fork in the road was particularly significant to me so I was absolutely overwhelmed and felt loved at this point. I also felt that I had a God reveal himself to me at this point. Adonis came through very clearly to me. He told me that I needed to be more balanced and he was there to help me with that. I had a clear picture of him in my head. As a side note, I looked him up after the ritual and was amazed when I found a picture of him on Wikipedia that matched the image I had in my head of him during the ritual.
Since I have started my journey with the Mists, I have had a more difficult time with the Gods. I became comfortable with the Goddesses right away. As I said I feel that Isis has been helping to guide me for some time, but I did not identify with any of the Gods. Adonis’s appearance to me gave me a whole new sensation, I actually do feel balanced now. The love that radiated from him was amazing and I am grateful for the experience.
I had brought a hard boiled egg to the ritual. We were instructed to write a rune image upon the egg. I did a single rune cast to find the rune for the evening. I pulled Raido as I have many times lately.
“Raido is the journey rune. It stands for the worn path and the open road. It represents the hero’s quest for meaning and redemption. Raido reminds us that life is a journey that leads towards greater understanding. The appearance of Raido suggests a fork in the road. The decisions you make at this junction will determine how your story unfolds. Disruption, in one form or another, is imminent. Raido can be seen as an agent of displacement or it can be embraced as an opportunity for exploration. As with most things in life, your attitude will decide.”
Seeing the meaning of this rune and the experience I had with the Goddess and the fork in the road may help you to understand why this ritual was such an overwhelming experience for me. At this point I peeled the egg, ate half as instructed and saved the other half to give to the wildlife, and the shells to bury outside in the garden.
This ritual was an absolutely amazing spiritual opportunity and I am very grateful for the experiences that I had during it. I left the ritual feeling loved, guided, and protected, and more confident than ever that I am on the right path. I definitely will be researching Adonis more as I feel as if he has been with me since the ritual as well and I want to learn as much as I can about him. :)

I've seen PaganSpace mentioned a couple of times while on the boards at Sacred Mists and I decided to go over and check it out today. What a great website!! It's like a facebook for Wiccans. I setup a profile and it allows you to select your interests so that you can tell what other users are there for. You can choose on or more of the following: Occultist, Spiritual but not Religious, Pagan, Witch, Wiccan, Satanist, Mystic, Shaman, Other Spirituality, Native American Spirituality, Heathen, or Druid. After setting up my profile I went about to browse the site. There are several different groups or message boards within the site that you can join with a huge wealth of information for you to look through. I was happily reading along on several of the topics and definitely love the information on there. I also found it interesting to search the members by location and see who was about my area. ;) This is definitely a great community site to check out. Happy browsing!!

I am working on the Herbalist Training Course at Sacred Mists and am very excited that I just turned in the lesson 1 homework today. I found the first lesson very intense to read. I wound up rereading it several times. lol :) But I am proud of myself for getting through it and getting the homework done. The beginning that told of the history of anatomy I found fascinating. I have always been drawn to historical facts and found that information an easy read for me. I struggled a bit getting all the information for the bones, joints, muscles, nervous systems and the rest. :) However I understand why we need to have a background in it. Hopefully I learned the material well enough that I will be able to get through the test for the lesson once I am approved to take it. :)
I find it interesting how I was drawn to take the Herbalist Course at Sacred Mists. They actually ran a sale for it at 50% off at the beginning of February, but I decided not to join it at that point. A couple weeks later I was taking a bubble bath and meditating on some candles and I got a beyond overwhelming urge to join the course. I mean overwhelming! I just about grabbed my iphone and enrolled while still taking my bath. It feels like its something I am meant to do. I enrolled after my bubble bath and have been working on learning the material for lesson 1 for the past couple of weeks. I definitely love to learn and am excited about learning more from this course.

A Visit to the Ocean
I had a wonderful time at the ocean this weekend. It's amazing how calming the ocean is to me. Just to be able to sit there and watch it was absolutely mesmerizing. :))) I took the time to clear my head, banish the negativity I was carrying, and really try to think about what I wanted to do as far as my life and spiritual paths.
While taking a walk on the beach I was coming back up towards my hotel room and there were these two really smooth sandy looking stones placed next to each other. They looked very much alike. They seemed to call to me so I picked them up and brought them home. I have placed them on my windowsill along with a couple of shells that I had picked up from the beach a previous time. :)
I had the quartz crystal that I got a couple weeks ago with me so I spent some time meditating on that looking over the ocean. The weekend was an amazing experience for me.
It was also very nice to come home. It finally warmed up a bit here yesterday so I was able to have all the windows open in the house to get some fresh air into here. It's amazing what an uplifting experience it is to just open the windows after they have had to remain shut the entire winter. I am definately looking forward to the warmer weather that spring is brining.
This Friday I will be attending the Ostara ritual online. I am very excited. It is my second online ritual. :) I am starting to gather the supplies that I will need. I should've started earlier but I believe I will be able to find what I need this week. As time goes on I am building a collection of special items to use for my rituals.
I need to collect -
a hard boiled egg with a rune symbol written on it
a yellow or light green alter cloth
springtime colored candles
a small cauldron
and some floral incense.
When I was at the beach I was taking several pictures during the day. One of them came out darker I have no idea why but I absolutely love it. :))

Bide the Wiccan laws we must
In perfect love, in perfect trust.
Live and let live,
Fairly take and fairly give.
Cast the Circle thrice about
To keep the evil spirits out.
To bind the spell every time,
Let the spell be spoke in rhyme.
Soft of eye and light of touch,
Speak little, listen much.
Deosil go by the waxing moon,
Chanting out the Witches’ Rune.
Widdershins go by the waning moon,
Chanting out the baneful rune.
When the Lady’s moon is new,
Kiss the hand to her, times two.
When the moon rides at her peak,
Then your heart’s desire seek.
Heed the North wind’s mighty gale,
Lock the door and drop the sail.
When the wind comes from the South,
Love will kiss the on the mouth.
When the wind blows from the West,
Departed souls will have no rest.
When the wind blows from the East,
Expect the new and set the feast.
Nine woods in the cauldron go,
Burn them fast and burn them slow.
Elder be the Lady’s tree,
Burn it not or cursed you’ll be.
When the Wheel begins to turn,
Let the Beltane fires burn.
When the Wheel has turned to Yule,
Light the log and the Horned One rules.
Heed ye flower, bush and tree,
By the Lady blessed be.
Where the ripling waters go,
Cast a stone and truth you’ll know.
When ye have a true need,
Hearken not to others’ greed.
With a fool no season spend,
Lest ye be counted as his friend.
Merry meet and merry part,
Bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Threefold Law you should,
Three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow,
Wear the blue star on thy brow.
True in love ever be,
Lest thy lover’s false to thee.
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill,
An ye harm none, do what ye will.
Merry Meet, My magickal name is Jasmeine Moonsong. I am a first degree dedicant student at the Sacred Mists Online Wiccan College. I joined Sacred Mists on July 14, 2008. It quickly became my spiritual home. The community is absolutely amazing and is just one of the many strengths of the Mists. I was welcomed with open arms and made to feel right at home. My online studies since July have been fantastic as well. They are leading me on a path of self-discovery and challenging me to be a better person.
I have always been drawn to Wicca, have done some reading on it, and explored a bit on my own. Sacred Mists is my first experience with studying Wicca formally and being part of a Coven. I have loved every minute of my time there and am grateful for all the guidance and support I am receiving on my journey. They really encourage you to be an individual, find what's comfortable for you, and follow the path that is suitable for you. The head of the college Lady Raven Moonshadow takes a very active interest and role in the college. She is very active on the message boards, attends a lot of events that are set up, and even takes the time to send private messages to those addressing issues.
In the past nine months I have been working on my lessons at Sacred Mists, participating in several extension courses that are offered for free, and have recently begun working on my Herbalism training as well. One of the classes I am working on is an Empath training class that has a support group as well. I have known for a few years now that I am a highly sensitive person with some psychic/medium abilities as well. I have come to a point in my life where I cannot ignore them any longer and am working very hard to understand what they are and how to control them. It has been an amazing journey for me thus far. I'm quite sure I will be going more into that in further posts ;) For now though I must run and get my son down for his morning snooze. :)
Love and Blessings
