Tinkerbelle and a Bit of Magick

I've been having a rough week. I have a torn muscle in my back which has been causing me a good deal of pain. I decided to have a Mommy and Melody night :) as I call it when I spend some special time with my daughter. She usually goes to bed about 8:00 but I let her stay up early tonight. I looked through childrens movies available on demand and I found Tinkerbell. Talk about the perfect movie to share with my daughter. :)))

This was the first time either of us had seen the movie and it was just so beautiful and magickal. It was hard not to have this overwhelming feeling of love when watching it. I definitely would recommend sitting down and watching this one with your little ones if you have them. I have been just starting to introduce Wicca a little bit to my little ones. Just trying to teach them basic things like the love of nature and being kind and trying to help everyone. My daughter was absolutely thrilled with the movie. As I was getting her ready for bed she asked me if Fairy's were real. It was so nice to tell her Yes and mean it. :)))))))) I told her a little bit about what I have learned about them from reading on the boards in the Mists.

My daughter went to bed so happy tonight, she was just radiating with love and positive energy. It filled my heart to see her so happy. It made me really happy that something so magickal I was able to tell her really was out there and if she was good, and spread love and happiness in her life she would get to learn more about them and see many more magickal things in her life.

Wiccaning Ceremony - Newborn Baby Welcoming Ritual

Wiccaning Ceremony - Newborn Baby Welcoming Ritual

I've been reading the book Solitary Witch by Silver Ravenwolf. I came across a Welcoming ritual for a newborn baby and I really loved it so I thought I would share. :) I thought the idea of making a baby blanket with all the different ribbons on it was a beautiful idea.

Wiccaning Ceremony
A wiccaning/saining ritual welcomes a newborn into the "world family," providing protection for the infant as he or she grows in the material world. A wiccaning ceremony can be done soon after the child is born or can occur later in the year. Sometimes when parents join the Craft they ask the high priest or priestess to perform a wiccaning ceremony for children anywhere from birth to ten years old. You may live in a household where your mom and dad would be delighted if you do a wiccaning for your new sibling. If this is the case, here is a simple ritual that the family can do.
SUPPLIES: General altar setup of the four elements; illuminator candles; a new baby blanket, and eight thirteen-inch-longribbons. Carefully sew the ribbons onto the blanket, thinking of what they stand for as you sew. Each ribbon's color stands for a special gift:
White: The gift of spiritual success and free will, and the purification of Spirit.
Silver: The gift of psychism and the love of the Goddess.
Blue: The gift of communications and intelligence
Green: The gift of healing and attunement with nature.
Yellow: The gift that all needs will be met in a positive way and that joy be a constant companion.
Gold: The gift of wisdom and discernment.
Red: The gift of communication with your guardian.
Choose the ritual format in which you feel your family would be most comfortable.
INSTRUCTIONS: Cleanse the area with the four elements. Stack any physical gifts for the baby by the altar. At the core of the ritual, bless the baby with holy water (just a touch), saying:

May you be cleansed, consecrated, and regenerated
in the name of our Lord and Lady (or Spirit).
May your feet always walk the path of love
and enlightenment. So mote it be.

Then pass the four elements over the baby, asking each for love and empowerment in his or her forthcoming life.

Place the blanket around the baby saying:

Welcome back, little one!
May the Mother's blessings shower thee
with the love of family and friends
by my hand on your head I empower thee
in this Circle that never ends
I give you these gifts of life
and enchantment--

Touch each ribbon as you repeat the gift, then hold your hands over the baby and envision all the gifts coalescing into a ball of light that surrounds the baby. Draw an equal-armed cross over the baby, saying:

These gifts are yours to keep or to discard
when you come of age to understand them.
May you use them wisely. So mote it be

If there are other gifts to be given to the baby, do so now, then close the ritual in the normal way.

6 Steps to Good Magical Hygeine

graphic by MoonMomma

I found an amazing article that I wanted to share with you. The article is called 6 Steps to Good Magical Hygeine. It was written by Tess Whitehurst and featured in the New Witch Magazine. I went through the cleansing this morning and plan to try to do it regularly to help. Here is the link for the article: 6 Steps to Good Magical Hygeine. Tess has a website called Sacred Space/Magical Living. You can visit her website here: Sacred Space/Magical Living She also has a monthly newsletter called the Good Energy Newsletter that I signed up for. Enjoy!

Six Steps to Good Magical Hygiene
By Tess Whitehurst
New Witch Magazine

As magical practitioners, we walk between the worlds of form and spirit. We open ourselves up to the subtle realms, and become aware of the play of energy on a deep level. We consciously choose to create positive change in the world and in our lives, and to release negativity and that which doesn’t serve us. For these reasons, it’s important for us to regularly engage in proper magical hygiene. A daily magical hygiene practice allows us to walk between the worlds safely, effectively, and happily while becoming more and more in possession of the fullness of our magical power. It cleanses us of psychic debris and energetic blocks, allowing us to be clear channels of magical information and power.

I’ve outlined some effective magical hygiene practices that can be incorporated into your daily meditation. I often work with Archangel Michael to help with magical hygiene, and include him in the descriptions of several practices below, but feel free to work with the Goddess, God, and/or any other appropriate being(s) of your choice.

1) Grounding and Centering

Being grounded means being connected to the energy of the earth. For magical practitioners, I recommend doing this visualization every day, and before any magical endeavor. Once you’ve practiced it for a while, you’ll be able to immediately establish your connection with the earth, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. As you practice this exercise regularly, you will find that you feel safer, more confident, more joyful, more in touch with your intuition.

Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight and your eyes closed. You can play drum or trance music with drums if you want, or any sort of trancy music with an earthy sound. Take some deep breaths until you feel your body relax; call on Mother Earth and ask for Her blessing in connecting with Her. Visualize very bright white light drenching your face and turning your face into light; all the muscles, behind the eyes, the cheeks, the inside of the mouth, everything. Now let the white light fill your entire head and turn your head into light. Slowly continue filling every body part with light: your neck, throat, shoulders, back, arms, wrists, fingers, organs, legs, and feet. When you get to your feet, feel and see your entire body so drenched in the light that it is the light. Continue to breathe deeply.

Next, become aware of your spine. Turn your awareness to the end of your spine; see and feel your tailbone grow downward like a root. See this root — made of very bright white light — extend downward, feel it moving down and down, through the deep and receptive earth. Then see it start to expand, branch, and spread while it is still moving down and down. Take your time and experience the earth as your roots continue to move slowly down.Eventually your roots enter the core of the earth. The core is filled with the same blindingly bright white light that fills your body. This is Earth Light. Your light connects with it and you are now one with the core of the earth. As you connect, the light gets even brighter. Take time to experience this wonderful feeling. Now, move your attention back to your body. Begin to see your light growing upward like a tree; and in fact, you are a tree, and your body is a part of the trunk. The tree that you are is made of bright white light, and its roots extend all the way into the core of the earth. Reach your branches high into the sky. If it is day, see your leaves basking in the sunlight and moving in the breeze. If it is night, see your branches up among the stars. Now, much like trees pull nourishing sunlight in through their leaves, you see that you are receiving clear sparkly rainbow energy from the sky. This is Universal Light. Let it move in through your leaves and downward into your trunk, mixing with the white light. Let it slowly move toward your body and see it enter your head. From your head, it moves throughout the rest of your body. This Universal Light now moves slowly down your roots, continuing to mix with the Earth Light as it moves. Eventually, it reaches the core of the Earth. Your energy is now connected with and nourished by the Earth and Sky, and you are a bridge between the two. Allow yourself to bask in the feeling of balanced energy and connectedness.

2) Cord Cutting

Psychic and/or energetic cords can become attached to our energy fields in a number of ways, including fear, guilt, and limiting beliefs. Once such a cord is attached, it drains energy and creates imbalance. Cords can be connected to people, past situations, fears about the future, or issues like money or romance. I recommend doing this cord-cutting exercise following the grounding exercise.

Sit with your spine straight. Breathe deeply and consciously relax your body. Notice if you are holding ontoany fear or tension and let yourself release it. Ask Archangel Michael (or your chosen patron deity) to cut any psychic cords of attachment that may be connected to your energy field. Continue to breathe deeply and sit quietly for a little while longer and feel the cords being cut. Then take a deep breath and move on feeling free.

I find that, when used as part of my daily magical hygiene, this exercise lifts my mood and increases energy.

3) Aura Cleansing

When your aura, the sphere of light described above, is sparkly clean, you are a clear channel of magical power, possessed of clarity and positive energy. Auras absorb negativity, so it’s important to cleanse them regularly. After the cord-cutting exercise, or any time you feel that you may have absorbed negativity, you can perform this cleansing.

Sit with your spine straight and breathe deeply. Ask Archangel Michael (or your patron deity) to remove alldarkness, heaviness, and/or negativity from your aura. Visualize a magical vacuum that looks sort of like a sword made of bright white light; all dark spots or debris in your aura and energy field get sucked out with the vacuum. Any lingering negativity from previously cut cords gets vacuumed up as well. When you feel that this is finished, ask that your aura be filled with cleansing and energizing light, which replenishes and rebalances your energy field.

4) Chakra Clearing

You know when the weather person points out a spiraling swirl of air that is the cause of a hurricane? Chakras are places in our energy field that swirl and vibrate with a specific type of energy in much the same way (but in miniature!) Clearing them on a regular basis is important because it helps us clear away unhelpful patterns and negative energy while opening us up to the fullness and beauty of life.

Each chakra spins in a circle and corresponds with a color. Everyone’s sixth sense perceives differently, so you may or may not actually perceive the chakra as the color to which it is assigned. The color designation is just a helpful bridge to perceiving something that is beyond the scope of our five primary senses.

As you begin to become familiar with your chakras (see sidebar) you’ll start to feel a connection between your mind, body, and emotions like never before. You’ll also know when they are especially balanced or when you have an energetic block or any sort of issue with the healthy flow of energy in one or more of them. This knowledge allows you to work on the energetic level to bring yourself back into a holistic state of balance and harmony.

I recommend clearing your chakras after grounding, cord cutting, and cleansing the aura.

Sit with your spine straight. Close your eyes and consciously relax your muscles and organs. Take some deep breaths and consciously relax your mind. Now, visualize a concentrated beam of white light moving upward from the core of the earth. Know that this light is vibrating at a very high frequency and is a high-powered cleansing tool. Become aware of the red spiraling and swirling light at the base of your spine. See the beam of light enter the middle of this chakra. As the light enters, it makes the chakra brighten and spin at a rapid pace. The red becomes more vibrant and any darkness or heaviness dissolves away. Take as much time as you need with this. Now the light moves up to the orange chakra below your bellybutton. It enters the center of this chakra and causes it to brighten and glow. See it spinning vertically, emanating light from the front and back of your body. See the beam of light moving up to the yellow spiraling light spinning vertically half way between your bellybutton and your heart. The yellow becomes brighter and clearer. The beam now moves up to the vertically spinning green energy at your heart. This creates a great flowering of energy at your heart, and the green becomes more emerald and brilliant. Continue to see the beam move up to the vertically spinning blue energy at your throat. When the light enters the center of the swirl, the blue light becomes brighter and less dense. Let the light move up to the swirl of indigo energy on your forehead above and between your eyebrows. The indigo energy brightens and glows. Next, the light moves out through the purple and/or white swirl of energy spinning horizontally at the crown of your head. This chakra also becomes brighter and more vibrant. Take some deep breaths and continue to relax, revisiting any chakra that still feels out of balance in any way. Continue until you feel that your chakras feel totally cleansed, open, and balanced.

5) Energetic Protection

When you’re finished with the grounding, cord cutting, aura cleansing, and chakra clearing, it’s important to finish with a powerful protection.

Sit with your spine straight. Take some deep breaths and relax. Ask the God/dess to fill the sphere of energy around you with protective light through which no negativity may enter, and through which all vibrations that are loving and positive may enter easily. This light may be indigo, white, pink, or green; choose the color that feels like it would be most effective for you today.

This protective sphere of light will remain powerful for at least six hours, and gradually fade for another six. You can renew it by doing a quick visualization and prayer.

6) Get in the Habit

It may seem like a lot at first, but once you get into the habit of doing these exercises they will become second nature. Maintaining good magical hygiene brings success to your magical endeavors and every aspect of your life.

First Attempt at Tarot Card Reading with My New Tarot Cards

I received my tarot cards last week and have been reading a bit in my book about how to do tarot card spreads. I am intending on enrolling in the class here as well. I was a bit apprehensive about doing a reading on myself but finally decided to go for it today and was amazed at the results that I received :) I was excited to see how true the cards rang for me and how emotionally attached I seem to be to the cards. I did a past present future spread and this was the result that I got. The interpretation is from the book that I got with the deck "The Dreamers Journal" :)

Past: 2 of Swords
A blindfolded woman wearing vibrant red sits on a bench with two perfectly balanced swords symbolizing a difficult decision or conflict. The moon hangs in the sky, illuminated by a cuious beam of light. Behind her, a turbulent ocean churns and rages, a sign of her emotions. Two ravens sit quietly, watching to see her next move.

This card represents a difficult situation. You are dealing with two conflicting ideas or a challenging decision, but you are not willing to fact the situation. You've closed your eyes to it. Rather than view it rationally, your emotions are distracting you. The Two of Swords suggests that this situation would benefit more from a rational decision than from an emotional one. It can also represent a truce or stalemate.

Present: Ace of Swords

A sword embedded in a stone glows in a dark landscape. A crown rests on the top of the hilt, representing the supremacy of clear thinking and rationality, the crowning glory of the gift of swords. A woman lightly touches the sword and experiences a powerful spark of illumination.

The Ace of Swords is a gift of knowledge and understanding. You can expect a flash of insight or an idea that will help solve a particularly sticky problem or experience a moment of truth. If you want to communicate something with clarity and just the right words, the energy to accomplish that is present at this time. It can also represent a new point of view, discovery, or intellectual achievement.

Future: Page of Cups

This woman dances on a shore beneath a rainbow. She holds aloft a simple chalice containing a fancifull blue fish. To us, it is a cup and a fish; yet she sees worlds of wonder in the smallest things. This page is sweet, sensitive, and creative. She is a dreamer, the type of girl that enchanted fish tell stories to. Her life is filled with rainbows and magic. She is intuitive and emotional. She loves openly and deeply. Perhaps she gives a bit too much of herself and risks getting hurt. She is constantly being inspired and is always on the verge of some new project or creation. That story the fish told her? She'll write it, illustrate, hand-bind the book, and give it to that nice woman she just met the other day. Pages also represent messages. In this case, possibly a message about a loved one or a creative project or possibly a love note.

**the last card brought me to tears because it hit so close to home on who I am.*

Numerology Report

I had requested a numerology report on the tarot board at Sacred Mists. Mystical Charm was kind enough to do one for me. :) Here's the results. :)

Your Life Path number is 11.

The number 11 Life Path has the connotation of illumination describing its general focus. This is the number associated with spiritual awareness. As one of the two master numbers, 11 vibrations yield understanding and knowledge beyond the grasp of others. The attitude toward life of those possessing this Life Path is somewhat extreme; extremely intuitive, avant-garde, idealistic, visionary, and cultured. These extremes make you an interesting, if unusual person, with much to offer society. The Life Path 11 person is deep-thinking, and you are no doubt interested in understanding many of life's mysteriesand more intriguing facets. Your inventive mind and broadminded views will permit you to succeed in life in any number of ventures. You can best serve society, however, in those endeavors utilizing your skills of counseling and guidance. Much of your idealism is people oriented and quite humanitarian in nature. You expect a great deal of yourself and of those to whom you are close.

On the negative side, there is a lot of nervous tension associated with the 11 life path, and you can be a difficult person to deal with because of this. For this reason, relationships, at times, can be difficult. This is a Life Path that seems to feature broad mood swings between the elation and depression. You are likely to have trouble making decisions and getting your life in gear, so to speak. There is a tendency for the 11 to harbor feelings of uneasiness, and dissatisfaction with accomplishments and personal progress in life. Your grandiose schemes usually make sense, but you can get off the track and theycan be very impractical. You have a very distinct side that lacks common sense, and you are quite often unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality. In this regard, you are perhaps more of a dreamer than a doer. When you do get on target, your ideas seem to have been inspired on high. Perhaps you are not a leader, but you are a visionary and a very talented idea person.

Your Expression Number is 8.

Your Expression is represented by the number 8. The 8 Expression is well-equipped in a managerial sense. You have outstanding organizational and administrativecapabilities. You have the potential for considerable achievement in business or other powerful positions. You can expect to receive the financial and material rewards. You have the skill and abilities to establish or operate a business with great efficiency. You have good judgment when it comes to money and commercial matters, and you understand how to build and accumulate material wealth. Much of your success (or lack of it) may come due to your ability (or inability) to judge character. With the number 8 Expression, you exercise sound judgment in most of your affairs; you are realistic and practical in your approach to business matters.

The positive 8 Expression produces individuals that are very ambitious and goal-oriented. If the 8 energy is not in excess in your makeup, you will no doubt express these traits to some extent. No one has any more energy than a person with the 8 Expression who has a plan laid and is starting to work. No one has any more self-confidence, either. If you are expressing the positive qualities of 8, you are an outstanding manager because you can plan, initiate, and complete projects; you are very dependable and determined.

As it always happens, there can be too much of a good thing. If you have too much of the 8 energy in your makeup, you may express some of the negative attitudes.A negative 8 can be very rigid and stubborn. Ambition sometimes has a way of becoming over-ambition, and you may express an unreasonable impatience with the lack of progress. If your negative side is showing, you may be too exacting, both of yourself and of others. Sometimes this can even become a case of intolerance.

The number 8 is very materialistic and also very desirous of status and power. Neither of these drives are inherently negative unless they are taken to an extreme. You must avoid the tendency to strain after money, material matters, status, or power, to the detriment of the other important factors in your life.

Pinnacles and Challenges

The pinnacles and challenges in your life show your response to your environment during the period of time that these influences are in effect. The timing of pinnacles and challenges are simultaneous, and mark the four phases of your life. The pinnacle number is usually considered a benevolent force, while the challenge number is just that, a challenge during those years.

The first Pinnacle...6

As a young person you are likely to find much duty and responsibility related to home and family. There may be strong feelings of limitations because of these pressures. Ill-advised marriages at an early age sometimes occur. It is a period for you to attend to the demands made on you for family and close friends rather than self. Often, the six pinnacle suggests a person who is under the close dictates of a parent or of some authority figure.

Second Pinnacle...11

With the 11 pinnacle occurring in the second stage of your life may take on much the same implications as the 2 pinnacles, however, responsibilities and accomplishments of significance will contain the tone of the inspirational nature of this number.

Third Pinnacle...8

During this period of your life you are apt to become very deeply involved with being a executive, or perhaps being married to one. You will begin to rely more on rational feelings and less on emotional impulses. You are more ambitious and success oriented.

Fourth Pinnacle...5

With the fourth pinnacle showing 5, any desire to retire or slow down is not likely to be fulfilled. Change and variety will continue to keep your occupied and busy. If you are adaptable, this can be a very interesting time in your life. In most cases, a final pinnacle of 5 means freedom from financial or domestic worries.

Your first challenge, starting at birth and lasting until age 25 is a number 3. The challenge of the number 3 suggests a tendency to scatter talents and try to do too many things at once during this period of your life. You may have a fine imagination and a gift for words, but you find it hard to express yourself effectively. Though you know you should cultivate friends and be sociable, you tend to be somewhat reclusive and defensive. You may have a talentfor writing, acting, or speaking, but you are reluctant to involve yourself with these sorts of activities because you do not like to face the prospects of criticism. You are expressing yourself with a negative emphasis, hiding your creative talents behind a wall of shyness. You must strive to develop yourself in a social and in a creative sense.

Your second challenge, starts the following year and lasts until age 34 is a number 1. The challenge of the number 1 suggests that in these years, you are likely to feel dominated by others with strong influence, probably parents or others with whom you compete. The challenge of the number 1 is avoidance of being dominated, but doing so in a fashion that does not impose upon or dominate others. With the challenge of the number 1 it's extremely important to control the ego, and avoid the negative aspect of individuality. False pride, pomposity, egotism are issues to be guarded against now. You are now in a period of learning about self-reliance and how to solve your own problems independently. Learn to rely on your wit and your intelligence, avoiding argumentation and resentfulness.

Your third challenge, starts the next year and lasts until age 43 is a number 4. The challenge of the number 4 suggests a difficulty with work. Either you simply don't like to work, don't like the work your are forced to do, or you have difficulty completing tasks and working efficiently. You may be careless and lack a sense of practicality. Often this challenge makes it hard to see the forest for the trees when it comes to work and obligations. It is importantfor you to learn patience, understanding and the practical, common sense way of dealing with mundane responsibilities. You may also need to learn the importanceof working within the parameters of a time schedule.

Your fourth challenge will last for the remainder of your life, and is a number 4. It is importantfor you to learn patience, understanding and the practical, common sense way of dealing with mundane esponsibilities. You may also need to learn the importance of working within the parameters of a time schedule.

The Maiden - Aspects of the Maiden I See in Myself and My Role Model

I recently attended the study hall for first degree dedicants on the Maiden. We were given a homework assignment to answer what aspects of the Maiden to we find in ourself and in our role models. The following is the essay that I wrote. I wanted to keep a copy of it in my journal. :)

The Maiden aspect of the Goddess is curious and loves to discover. She is creative, energetic, carefree and has a true joy of living. She can be very confident and independent. The Maiden aspect is typically associated with a woman in her 20's before she has reached childbirth. When one is finding her way in this world and is on the path of self-discovery but still enjoying life with more of a carefree attitude, as she has not yet taken on the responsibilities of being responsible as a mother for her children.

I see the Maiden aspects most clearly in myself on nights that I have someone to watch my children and I am out on my own. For those few hours I am responsible just for myself and I feel "younger" again. It is amazing the amount of responsibility that you have when having children. However it is something I would not change for the world as I am very blessed to have two absolutely amazing children that I love with all my heart. On nights when I have a sitter for both of them I find myself full of wonder and excitement. I typically want to go explore someplace new, or do something fun. I am full of joy and have a more carefree attitude knowing at that time that I am free to go where I want and do what I like without worrying if it is appropriate, or too late at night etc.

Some Maiden aspects that I see in myself in a day to day basis is my absolute love of learning. I am very curious about the world and how things work and I love learning as much as I can. I have been so excited and full of joy since I have begun my Wiccan journey here at the Mists. My discovery here is self-empowering. I am becoming more of a person who stand on her own two feet rather than following or being who others want me to be just to make them happy. I am not afraid to be different anymore. I am more accepting that I am who I am, and am following my intuition on a path to self-discovery and I am loving every minute of it.

My Grandmother is a woman who has always been my rolemodel. She passed on 8 years ago and I have most definately missed having her here in my life. My grandmother was my second mother. She definately had some Maiden aspects. She had an energy and joy of life that was absolutely contagious. She would always lead me on paths of discovery, and teach me new ideas, and show me new things. My grandmother loved learning as well. The love and patience she had was absoluteuly amazing and I can only hope to be that loving and patient one day in my life. My grandmother had a pure love of life. You could see it everyday that she spent here. She almost always was smiling and had a positive outlook on what was happening. She tought me that everything happens for a reason. No matter how sad a situation my seem, if something bad happens you need to find what you are to learn from the situation and take it as a positive influence in your life. My grandmother always had time to play with me as a child. She helped fuel my imagination when I was little. She was also one that never disregarded the sightings I had as a child but tried to help me to see them in a not so threatening light. I will forever be gratefull to her for the impact that she had on my life. I live most of my days aspiring to be as happy as she was in life.

Passed Lesson 3, Onto Lesson 4

Good Morning :) I'm still sleepy after just waking up. I got my Lesson 3 homework back night with the go ahead to move to Lesson 4. :) I already read Lesson 4 last night, right after I got approval. :) What a great lesson! I'm excited about working more on the golden meditation. I just had that meditation in my Empath class as well. One bit in the lesson was about living in touch with your younger self, the Maiden aspect of yourself. I just attended a study group online yesterday about the Maiden and it all went together perfectly.

I also turned in my Test for Lesson 1 on my Herbalist class yesterday. I am not as confident on that. I am really really hoping to get it back passed, as the entire first section was about anatomy and I found it really challenging for me to understand. I'm not the strongest in that sort of thing.

Another thing I wanted to note ;) As I was falling asleep the other night. Right between being asleep and being awake I had an experience with Hecate. This was a first for me. She came across as extremely loud, almost as if she thought I couldn't hear her? But at the same time it may have just been authoritative? I dunno. I found the experience a bit intimidating by what I was hearing....but I felt loved having her there, if that makes sense. I need to learn more about her. :)

Mystic Dreamer Tarot

Mystic Dreamer Tarot (Book & Cards)I have been interested in tarot for a little while now. I have a few applications on my iphone for tarot and I look at that almost every day. I decided it was time to start learning it with a real deck of cards. :) There are not a lot of shops around here that would have tarot decks. I honestly couldn't think of one. lol I spent a couple hours last night browsing through different decks and I found one that I absolutely love. :) Hopefully it will be as wonderfull when I get it in my hands as I thought it looked online.

I ordered the Mystic Dreamer Tarot and book set. Once I receive the deck I will start participating in the extension class here. I am very excited to receive it. The pictures on the cards are just absolutely beautiful!

Mystic Dreamer Tarot [With 78-Card Deck and Black Organdy Tarot Bag]   [MYSTIC DREAMER TAROT] [Paperback]The deck is published by Llewellyn Publications and was published on September 1, 2008. As soon as I saw it I thought it was perfect. The deck is influenced by the Rider Waite Smith tradition. A lot of the images are very close to the images in the RWS deck just with a modern flair. I look forward to getting the deck and discovering more about it. From the reviews that I read on it, it should be a very good starter deck to work with. I also ordered a tarot bag to store them in. :)

A friend may join Sacred Mists

I have been on facebook a fair amount in the past couple months. I have been loving it because it gives me a way to connect with people from my past and present and keep up with what is going on in their lives. I'm not a huge fan of the telephone ;) lol I had friended a girl that I went to highschool with about a month ago. When I did it jumped out at me that she was Wiccan. I didn't contact her or anything at that point. The other day I was driving to pick up my daughter from school and I just got hit with this overwhelming urge to send her a message telling her about Sacred Mists. It was like I was being told to do it. I actually found myself talking out loud in the car saying "Ok I'll message her as soon as I get home" lol

I got home and sent her a message just like I had said that I would. Then I sat nervously for the next 48 hours worried that she was going to think I was nuts for just messaging her out of the blue with that information! lol I have never recruited anyone for Sacred Mists. I am just a bit awestruck at how clear it seemed to be that I was suppose to do that and what I was suppose to tell her. I am rather excited about how it happened.

I just heard back from her this morning and she said she was thankful for the message and happy about having someone else to talk to about Wicca. She also said that she is new to the path, has just been reading some books about it, and is going to check out the Mists. I'm excited. I am really hoping that she will join us here. :)
