Herbs and Old Wives Tales

I came across this in my perusing about today and loved it instantly.  I remember my gram doing some of these when I was little :))))) Thought I would share :)))  That being said, I also remember my gram always having silver dollar trees around? They may be called something different it's what my gram always called them. The "leaves" are very translucent and have almost a pearl like sheen to them. It looks like the one in the picture.  Does anyone have any idea where these are found? I haven't seen one since I was little and am not sure where she would've got them.  If I'm remembering right we use to pick them in the woods though I have been looking and haven't seen one. There's something comforting about them to me. :)) If you know I would appreciate it! Thank you

Herbs and Old Wives Tales

Bluebells have both a good and bad magical reputation.
Long associated as harbingers of death, it is said that if
you hear bluebells ringing someone close to you will die.
Nevertheless, bluebells are commonly thought to be lucky.
Carrying bluebells compels you to tell the truth.

Cedar branches hung around your house protects it against
lightning strikes. Cedar, in your wallet, attracts money.
This spell really works. For years, I've had cedar in my wallet.
No matter what the situation or circumstance, somehow or other, money comes my way.

If you've been cursed, scatter chili pepper {or seeds} around
your house to break the spell. This also is a great spell for
kids who are afraid of the boogey man. Put the chili peppers
in a child's room, tell the child about the spell, and watch
the nightmares and "afraid ness" start to disappear.

Growing elder trees near your house will bring you prosperity
in addition to delightful elder flower champagne, elderberry jam,
and a plethora of hungry birds. Elder branches and twigs make
perfect wands.

Garlic is nature's antibiotic and an excellent pest control
in the garden. It's also a protection against shipwrecks for
sailors, against foul weather and monsters for mountaineers,
and against assaults by bullies. Garlic rubbed into your pots
and pans gets rid of negative vibrations that might ruin your food,
and if you eat garlic, you'll become lusty.

If you're a witch, plant geraniums around your house to foretell
coming visitors.

Grapes have long been considered symbols of fertility and money.
Wine, which is made from grapes, was often treated as sacred in
ancient cultures. In Tarot, the Ace of Cups can mean possible
wealth - both money-wise and for new friends.

Gather holly leaves on a Friday night - but beware, make absolutely
no sound when you pick the holly leaves or this spell will not work.
Wrap the leaves in a white cloth, knot the cloth nine times, and place
it under your pillow. Your dreams will come true!

Honesty or money plants {and chili peppers} when scattered about
your house will repel all monsters.

Finding the first white lily of the season will give you strength.
Wearing a fresh lily will break any love spells cast against you,
particularly when the love is unwanted.

Marigold and/or orange flowers added to your bath will make you
respected, admired, and attractive. Hang marigolds on your doorpost
to stop evil from entering your house (and stop those evil pests
from entering your garden)!

Mint is not just any ordinary garden herb used for mint juleps in
summer and relaxing teas in winter. Mint kept in the house protects
you and your loved ones. Putting a few leaves of mint in your wallet
will attract money. And mint leaves rubbed against your temples will
relieve headaches {same as smelling peppermint essential oil}.

If you catch a falling oak leaf, you won't have a cold in the winter.

Onions protect against venomous beasts and grown in your garden
protects your plants (against those venomous pests!). Quarter an
onion and place the quarters in the four corners of your house,
you'll get rid of any disease. Replace the onion quarters when
they turn black.

Pick pansies or Johnny-jump-ups, when the dew is still on them and
it will soon rain.

Eating parsley makes you lusty but wearing parsley on your head
stops you from getting drunk.

Roses and myrtle stand for love. Red roses mean passion, pink
roses - friendship, and white roses - pure love.

Rowan planted on a grave stops Hauntings and planted around your
house protects you and planted in stone circle makes the protection stronger.
Too, rowanberries make wicked jam and wine.

Rue grows best when stolen and then makes your garden grow better.
Toads don't like rue. Romans used to drink rue juice to guard against werewolves.

Thyme placed beneath a pillow ensures a pleasant night's sleep.
Thyme worn in a woman's hair will make her irresistible, and if you
both carry and smell thyme, you'll gain courage, but if you wear thyme,
then you'll see faeries.

On New Year's Eve, cast one of the shoes you're wearing up into a
willow tree {you have 9 tries}. If your shoe stays up in the tree,
then you'll be married within the year. To complete the spell,
you need to climb up into the willow tree and retrieve your shoe.

That horrid witch grass of garden wrecking fame, scattered under
your bed, attracts new lovers. An infusion of witch grass sprinkled
around your house repels depression.

Washing your head with a yarrow infusion will prevent baldness, and carrying
it, will attract love and friendship.

Yew (poison) will help you raise the dead.

Progressive Magick with Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone

Progressive WitchcraftMerry Meet :)))

So I have had my eye on an extra class at Sacred Mists for almost a year now.  Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone partnered with Sacred Mists to teach a class called Progressive Magick.   I attended the Progressive Magick seminar with them and absolutely loved it. :))) The only thing stopping me from taking the class was my confidence in my abilities.  "The Progressive Magic Course was designed for those from an intermediate to advanced level who want to take the next step in their understanding of magic. Janet and Gavin would like to point out that it isnot for beginners, but for those who are already familiar with the terminology of modern Wicca and Magical practice. " After studying at the Mists for 3 years and doing a lot of personal work and research I feel as if I am finally ready.  I actually feel like I was given a gentle nudge in this direction in a dream last night.  It is an advanced online certification course so I am most definitely making a huge time commitment as well. I am working on trusting my instincts and following my path so here I go. :)

I have much respect for Janet and Gavin.  For those of you who may not be familiar they have quite the presence in the Wiccan and Pagan community.  They have Authored several books to include, Progressive WitchcraftThe Healing CraftA Witches' Bible: The Complete Witches' Handbook and The Pagan Path: The Wiccan Way of Life, just to name a few.

"The course is staged in seven lessons and the structure of the course itself is an integral part of the teaching as it uses a magical energy system and cosmology based on seven. For this reason alone it can be considered a truly ‘holistic’ course in that it brings together the many facets of magic into one understandable system appropriate to the modern age. This is what is meant when they use the term ‘progressive’ in the title of the course. They also point out that this is not a course in Wicca; unless it is appropriate they are not teaching the religious aspects of witchcraft, only those aspects related to the practice of practical magic in a witchcraft context. There are no teachings regarding Wiccan History, Coven Structure, Degrees or Initiation. What they do cover in the seven lessons are the following:
  • What is Magic?
  • The Philosophy and dynamics of Magic.
  • The Psychology of Magic.
  • Magical Laws and Magical Ethics.
  • The Four Elements in Magic.
  • Ether, Mind and Spirit in Magic.
  • How Magic Works: Using and working with Magical Energy and Magical Cosmology.
  • Methods of Spellcraft: Using Correspondences, Magical Scripts and the Creation of Thought Forms.
  • How Magic causes change in the self: The Mysteries related to Magic.
  • Spirit Forms related to Magical Practice: Working with Guides, Guardians and Gods.
Each lesson builds on the previous one to build a system you can understand and work with the course is a journey of discovery into the world of magic and witchcraft, and more importantly your part in it. This is why they have included a large practical element, which includes regular mmagical energy exercises, as well as pathworkings, which explore the magical cosmology.agical energy exercises, as well as pathworkings, which explore the magical cosmology."  (From the course description)

I'm very excited.  I will be enrolling on payday this Friday. :) If anyone is interested the course can be found here:    If you are on Facebook you can find Janet and Gavin here:

Understanding Being Empathic: What is Empathy

One of the girls just shared this article at my Empath Class at the Mists and I had to share it here as I know a lot of you who follow this blog are empaths.  :)) Love and blessings

"Understanding Being Empathic: What is Empathy?
by Christel Broederlow

Empathy is the ability to read and understand people and be in-tune with or resonate with others, voluntarily or involuntarily of one's empath capacity. Empaths have the ability to scan another's psyche for thoughts and feelings or for past, present, and future life occurrences. Many empaths are unaware of how this actually works, and have long accepted that they were ìsensitiveî to others.

Empathy is a feeling of another's true emotions to a point where an empath can relate to that person by sensing true feelings that run deeper than those portrayed on the surface. People commonly put on a show of expression. This is a learned trait of hiding authentic expression in an increasingly demanding society. An empath can sense the truth behind the cover and will act compassionately to help that person express him/herself, thus making them feel at ease and not so desperately alone.

Empaths experience empathy towards family, children, friends, close associates, complete strangers, pets, plants and inanimate objects. Empathy is not held by time or space. Thus, an empath can feel the emotions of people and things at a distance. Some are empathic towards animals (ie: The Horse Whisperer), to nature, to the planetary system, to mechanical devices or to buildings etc. Others will have a combination of the above.

Empaths are highly sensitive. This is the term commonly used in describing one's abilities (sensitivity) to another's emotions and feelings. Empaths have a deep sense of knowing that accompanies empathy and are often compassionate, considerate, and understanding of others.

There are also varying levels of strength in empaths which may be related to the individualís awareness of self, understanding of the powers of empathy, and/or the acceptance or non-acceptance of empathy by those associated with them, including family and peers. Generally, those who are empathic grow up with these tendencies and do not learn about them until later in life.

Empathy is genetic, inherent in our DNA, and passed from generation to generation. It is studied both by traditional science and alternative healing practitioners. Empathy has both biological/genetic and spiritual aspects. Empaths often possess the ability to sense others on many different levels. From their position in observing what another is saying, feeling and thinking, they come to understand another. They can become very proficient at reading another personís body language and/or study intently the eye movements. While this in itself is not empathy, it is a side-shoot that comes from being observant of others. In a sense, empaths have a complete communication package. While there is much we don't yet understand about how empathy works, we do have some information. Everything has an energetic vibration or frequency and an empath is able to sense these vibrations and recognize even the subtlest changes undetectable to the naked eye or the five senses.

Words of expression hold an energetic pattern that originates from the speaker. They have a specific meaning particular to the speaker. Behind that expression is a power or force-field, better known as energy.

For example, hate often brings about an intense feeling that immediately accompanies the word. The word hate becomes strengthened with the speaker's feeling. It is that person's feelings (energy) that are picked up by empaths, whether the words are spoken, thought or just felt without verbal or bodily expression.

Who Is An Empath? Empaths are often poets in motion. They are the born writers, singers, and artists with a high degree of creativity and imagination. They are known for many talents as their interests are varied, broad and continual, loving, loyal and humorous. They often have interests in many cultures and view them with a broad-minded perspective. They are mother, father, child, friend, nurse, caregiver, teacher, doctor, sales people... to psychic, clairvoyant, healer, etc. (That is not to say that any of these categories are all empaths.)

The list is extensive and really unimportant. It is more important to notice that empaths are everywhere--in every culture and throughout the world. Empaths are often very affectionate in personality and expression, great listeners and counselors (and not just in the professional area). They will find themselves helping others and often putting their own needs aside to do so. In the same breath, they can be much the opposite. They may be quiet, withdrawn from the outside world, loners, depressed, neurotic, lifeís daydreamers, or even narcissistic. They are most often passionate towards nature and respect its bountiful beauty. One will often find empaths enjoying the outdoors, beaches, walking, etc.

Empaths may find themselves continually drawn to nature as a form of release. It is the opportune place to recapture their senses and gain a sense of peace in the hectic lives they may live. The time to get away from it all and unwind with nature becomes essential to the empath. Animals are often dear to the heart of empaths, not as a power object, but as a natural love. It is not uncommon for empaths to have more than one pet in their homes.

Howe Caverns

Merry Meet :)

Yesterday we decided to take a trip to Howe Caverns in New York. I wanted to get out of the house for awhile so was looking forward to the drive out there.

The drive itself was amazing.  It took almost two hours to get out there.  Much of the drive was snow covered farmland. I was relaxing completely just watching the sparkling landscapes go by me.  On the way there I actually saw about six deer standing on the side of the road.

I've come to love history. I was sitting here working on a rewrite of the history of the caverns and really the website for Howe Caverns does such a nice job of it I decided to share it here...

From the Website

Legend has it that on the hottest of days, a cool breeze came from "Blowing Rock," a strange stony ledge. No one knew where in the hillside "Blowing Rock" was precisely as the 19th century began. There were tales, though, from the early 1700s in which the Native Americans spoke of "Otsgaragee," translated as "Cave of the Great Galleries" or "Great Valley Cave". It was near this "Blowing Rock" that Lester Howe, his wife Lucinda (Rowley) Howe, and their three infant children - Hulda Ann, Harriet Elgiva and Halsey John - settled.

On his farm in the valley east of Cobleskill, Lester Howe found fascination with the story of the "Blowing Rock," with reports placing its location about 10 miles west of the Schoharie River, on or near his property.

Twenty years before the outbreak of the Civil War, the alert farmer noticed that his dairy herd always pastured in the same spot, not on his land, but land owned by his neighbor and friend Henry Wetsel. As Howe approached his herd, he noticed the change in temperature. It was getting cooler. Slowly and carefully, he pulled aside the bushes. Lester Howe had found "Blowing Rock," giving credit for the discovery to his cow, Millicent.

On May 22, 1842, Howe entered the cave with Wetsel. Day after day, the two entered the caverns. Each time, they would go a little farther. Each time they would emerge wet and muddy but exalted by the thrill of their discoveries. They hammered a piece of tin into a lamp to burn whale oil as their light source. They explored about one and a half miles of underground passageways - all by the dim, flickering light of the small oil lamp. They built a raft and crossed what we know today as the Lake of Venus.

In February, 1843, Howe purchased the property from Wetsel for $100. At age 33, Lester Howe opened Howe's Cave as the country's third commercial cave venture. Improvements in the cave began almost immediately, with Howe's announcements to the press rivaling his cave with the great Mammoth Cave of Kentucky. The treasure that was 156-feet below the earth's surface, that had so
delighted Howe and Wetsel, had begun its mission of thrilling millions more.

The website is wonderful if you get the opportunity to jump over and check it out.  Especially if you are into history.  We opted to take the hour and a half guided walking tour and boatride through the caverns.  It was amazing! :)))  We took an elevator 156 feet down to the caverns.  The lighting in the caverns is just beautiful.  They did a beautiful job with it down there.  I must confess I was a bit edgy on the elevator as I get a bit claustrophobic *blushes* but it was such a smooth ride and I was fine the minute it opened and my breath was taken away by the wonders of the caverns.

Unfortunately I really need to get a new camera as my iphone just didn't do any justice at all down there. :)) There are some really really wonderful pictures on the website if you are interested.  The cave is a constant 52 degrees so we made sure to dress warm.  The kids absolutely loved it.  We walked on this walkway through the caverns and just marveled at the sites around us.  There was a little waterway that ran under part of the walkway and let us down to this area that they call "the lake of venus"  It was there that we were taken on a boat ride of part of the caverns.

I found myself running about with the kids pointing out different areas in the cave and wanting to discover the next area.  My personal favorite area of the tour was what they called "the bronze room"   I was just awestruck in that area.  The colors were just amazing.  I actually felt like I was in an egyptian temple.  Why it made me feel that way I assume was the colors  but I couldn't help but feel like I had just jumped back in time thousands of years.  It was just breathtaking.

On the way back we went past an area that they actually do weddings at.  It was an alter formed into the rock of the cave.  They had a limestone heart lit up on the ground.  I can see why people would want to have their wedding there.  The view was just majestic around me.  After that we walked up through this area called "the winding way".  You had to walk single file through this area of the caves that just wound back and forth through the cave.  I found myself looking up to the top of the cave and all around me just marveling at everything I was seeing.  It's impossible to give a description that does it justice.  It's something you really need to see and experience for yourself.  So if you ever find yourself in New York it's definitely a tour that I would recommend.

All in all it was just a perfect day and the kids absolutely loved it.  When we were getting to leave I snapped the picture to the left.  The view from the parking area of the caverns was amazing.  You could just see for miles and miles.  Just an amazing view.

Quickening Moon Tonight

Merry Meet :)

I was just about ready to go and lie on my couch when it occured to me that tonight was indeed the full moon. :)

February's full moon is known as the Quickening Moon. It can also be known as the Hunger Moon, or the Ice Moon. This is the month where everyone is starting to get really jittery waiting for spring.  The sprouts of new life are edging up under the last of the snow eager to push their way out into that sunshine that we all know is coming within a few weeks.  Most of us have cases of cabin fever and are getting antsy with the chilly weather more then ready to start spring and the warmer days ahead.

This is a great time to make plans for your future. What are your hopes and dreams? What do you wish to achieve for yourself? As you look up into the full moon tonight think about what it is that you really want. Your magickal workings tonight should focus on what you want to achieve personally to advance your life and new beginnings.

For the Quickening Moon -

 - Colors: Blue and Purple
 - Deities: Brighid, Aphrodite
 - Gemstones: Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Jasper
 - Trees:  Rowan and Myrtle
 - Herbs: Hysop, Sage, Myrrh
 - Element: Fire

Hmmmmm so a night huddled up under a warm blue blanket next to a fire looking at the moon and thinking about the future sounds perfect to me.  How bout it? :-)))

Spring is coming! :)))

Merry Meet :)))

I have been battling it out with strep the past few days.  I'm gonna win I'm gonna win! lol :)))  My point of writing is not to whine though :)  I stepped outside this afternoon for a brief second to let the dog out and lo and behold it was warm! :)) By warm I mean in the 50's, I'm a New England girl and coming out of winter. lol  I immediately grabbed my son and the two of us went out to play barefoot on the deck and just bask in the sun.  Yes we were barefoot. :) Both of us are funny like that, barefoot whenever possible.  He definitely takes after me in that.

It felt sooooo good to just sit there with the sun beating down on me.  It was only 50 but it felt like 80 to me.  It's the first time I have been able to be outside for any length of time since October.  I couldn't help but smile and giggle out there.  My son had a blast playing with the bits of snow on the deck and splashing in the puddles it was making melting on the deck.  Just an amazing feeling to know that warmer weather is coming and the days where I can be back outside surrounded by nature for hours on end each day.  It's amazing how much that half hour in the sunshine lifted both mine and my son's spirits.

Merry Meet :))

I have been listening to a lot of Celtic music lately and for some reason every time this song comes on I just stop whatever I'm doing and go into a daze of sorts listening to the song.  So I thought I would share it with all of you. The song is Someday, by Celtic Woman. I'm quite sure it has something to do with my past as I recognize it, but can't put my finger on it. From what I know I think the song was written in 2005? But am relating it to my childhood for some reason? Would love any insight anyone has. :) Love and Blessings,

Empaths...Water = Calm

Merry Meet everyone :))

If you are an empath or highly sensitive person, or even just stressed water can be an amazing tool to help achieve calm.  Water is a balancing element for sensitive people.  Sounds simple right? Something so readily available that we take for granted can be essential in helping us to stay grounded in life.  So let's think about some of the ways that we can achieve this.

Drink water - I have a friend that hounds me on this! lol And you know what? He's completely right. I can tell a day when I've gotten enough water because I am much calmer.  On the days that I slack I can tell by the end of the day as I am more easily agitated.  You will find a wealth of different theories out there on how much water you should drink but I go by the 8x8 rule.  Drink 8, 8 oz glasses per day.  If this isn't something you are already doing, try it out for a few days and see if it makes a difference.  I betcha you will be surprised.

Baths - That's it ladies, (and gentlemen) there's your excuse to take that extra bubble bath each day. :)) I'm using it.  Immersing yourself in the water of a bath and letting yourself just become one with the element will do wonders to ground you and improve your mood.  Add in some lavender or vanilla oil to your bath to give it some added calming aromas.  If you really want to do it up, light some candles around the outside and watch the flame as you relax in the water.  As you drain the bathtub picture all that negative energy going right down the drain.

Showers - Even your morning 5 minute shower can become a meditation exercise to help ground and calm you.  As that water pours over your head picture it washing any negative energies right down your body, away from you and down the drain.  The let the water cover you with white light spreading positive energy through your body.

Lake, Ocean, River, Swimming Pool, Puddle - :)))) Yes even a puddle lol  See if you can find somewhere to sit next to water where you can relax and just watch the water. I can't tell you how many times I've said arghhh I need to go to the ocean to clear my mind.  I never realized that I was an empath back then and that water was key for us empaths to ground us.

Fountains - If you have access to a tabletop water fountain you can put up in your living area it will help huge. The sound and sight of it will do wonders to improve your mood.  If you don't have access, try leaving a couple bowls of water about the house filled with cool clear water and see how that does to improve your mood.

These are just a few ideas to get you started.  Once you are aware that water is essential to working with and controlling your gift you will start to become aware of the many ways you can incorporate it more into your life.  Give it a try. If you have any other ideas of ways to incorporate water into your life I would love to hear them :)))) Any stories to share? :)))))

Until next time :)

The Healing Power of Lightworkers

Every so often I will run into something when reading that just affects me, if powerful enough it can even invoke changes within myself.  A fellow sister of the Mists posted this article on my empath class board the other day and I keep finding myself going back to reread it.  So many points within it just hit home with me.  See if anything resonates with you as well ;) Love and Blessings.

The Healing Power of Lightworkers

Lightworkers are those who volunteered, before birth, to help the planet and its population heal from the effects of fear. Each lightworker is here for a sacred purpose. Very often, however, life on earth with its material focus creates a form of amnesia in lightworkers. They then forget their divine and perfect identities, and also their abilities to miraculously help the earth and all living creatures. When lightworkers forget their true identity and purpose, they feel lost and afraid.

Your are a lightworker if you: feel called to heal others; want to resolve the world's social and environmental problems; believe that spiritual methods can heal any situation; have had mystical experiences, such as psychic premonitions or angelic encounters; have endured harsh life experiences that eroded the knowledge of your Divine perfection; want to heal your own life as a first step in healing the world;

feel compelled to write, teach, or counsel about your healing experiences, or feel a sense of time urgency to fulfill your mission before you know that you are here for a higher purpose, or even if you are unsure what it is or how to fulfill it.

Everywhere on the planet right now, lightworkers are awakening to faint memories about why they came to earth. They hear an inner calling that can't be ignored. This call is a reminder that it is now time to stop toying with material dreams, and get to work.

Many lightworkers are discovering innate spiritual gifts, such as psychic communication skills and spiritual healing abilities. These are the gifts that we volunteered to use to heal the earth and her population during the crucial decades surrounding the millennium.

Prophecies predicted our coming, and now it is time for us to fulfill our Divine purposes. The world depends upon us!

We who are lightworkers don't necessarily need to add anything to ourselves to prepare for our mission. We already have innate abilities, even if they are presently dormant. Instead, we need to work on releasing fears which keep us from feeling confident in our lightworker abilities. When you remind yourself that your power as a lightworker comes from your higher self and God (not from "you") you automatically feel more assured of your abilities as a spiritual healer.

With our focused intent, thought, and spirit, we can heal anything. There are no limits, except those we place upon our healing abilities.

We definitely can heal the earth with our spiritual approach. In fact, scientists have recently demonstrated that people can change water and air temperature and also cloud structures, purely through their thoughts. Researchers have known for years that prayer positively affects plants and animals. These studies reveal something that many lightworkers have already known: our collective prayers and healing thoughts can avert prophecies of world trauma.

There is only one spirit and one mind, and we are all part of this collective intelligence and love. Miraculous results in scientific laboratories are demonstrating the factual basis of the oneness of all life. Not long ago, U.S. and Japanese scientists hooked-up test subjects to blood pressure and heart monitor machines. Simultaneously, in separate and sealed rooms, other test subjects were asked to think loving or angry thoughts about the people hooked-up to the machines. At the exact instant when a subject held a loving thought, the monitored person's blood pressure and heart rate significantly dropped. And then, at the precise moment when an angry thought was projected, the person's vital signs skyrocketed upward.

We who are lightworkers are already aware of the power of our thoughts.
What we are continuing to learn, however, is that our thoughts are even more powerful than we suspected! A large part of our lightworker function, then, is to continuously monitor our own thoughts to ensure that they are from a high and loving plane. When we occasionally slip into fearful or judgmental thoughts, we can release these thought forms to the angels who surround us, knowing that these spiritual companions want to help us fulfill our sacred purpose.

If your intuition is urging you toward a healing function, you can be sure that this is a Divine voice and not just wishful thinking. In recent years, a spiritual call has been broadcast—like a psychic "help wanted" ad—asking for lightworkers to awaken to their healing roles. Those who have heard the call sometimes contact me, asking for reassurance that this inner voice isn't setting them up for disappointment or possible failure.

I can certainly understand this fear, since I experienced it myself. When I was a young mother of two and an uneducated housewife, I began having spontaneous visions in which I saw myself as a healer and author. These visions frightened me, because I didn't think that I had the time, money, or intelligence to succeed. So I began overeating to silence the inner voice and visions. I didn't feel ready or qualified to awaken to my mission.

What I was doing was the equivalent of pushing the "snooze button" on my spiritual alarm clock. Overeating was my way of delaying God's plan for me, because food would temporarily drown out the sound and sight of my Divine life plan. I gained nearly 50 pounds before I finally surrendered to the Creator and asked for help in making my inner vision a reality. I discovered that as soon as I committed to following my life purpose, doors opened up for me in succession. In miraculous ways that I could never have planned for, everything in my visions became a reality.

We cannot fail when we accept the mission we chose for ourselves prior to incarnation.
The power and intelligence of the One mind makes no mistakes. We would not have been assigned our lightworker role, were we not perfectly qualified. Since we are made in the image and likeness of One who is all-knowing, all-loving, and able to heal anything, we can relax in the sure knowledge that we were born to heal.

Imbolc Ritual Today

spring is finally coming....

the days will be getting longer.....

and many things will begin anew...

a time for omens of things to come......

So Mote it Be........

This whole week I had been looking forward to today, my intention for today was to go into this snow day spending all day getting caught up on my Wiccan studies. However as the snow storm stacked another foot of snow on top of the 3 I already had I realized that nothing was going to go as planned. Nothing new for me :)))  I woke up to a stumbling block this morning that shook me a bit, but at the same time clarified things for me.  Ok I know I'm being vague lol, but I can't put my entire personal life out there. ;) However I will try to explain the best I can. :) What I have noticed is that the more I get into Wicca the more signs and things that have meaning to me seem to just jump out at me from everywhere.  It is something that I am truly loving.  I appreciate the added guidance.

So I intended to attend the evening ritual tonight at Sacred Mists but after a morning shakeup, a stressful morning packed with work that took wayyy longer then it should I decided to stop the world at 3:00 and attend the afternoon ritual rather then waiting for the evening one.  I just needed something calming to set my mood back into the positive. It definitely was a wise move for me.  I settled into my chair and tried to relax and ignore the chaos going on about me in the house.

Our rituals at the Mists are always begun with a meditation, and funny enough these meditations always seem to have a  meaning for me when I attend a ritual.  Not sure if that is the best way to word it but more often then not after a ritual meditation I am left going wow, and today was no exception.  It began normal, deep breathing to relax.  As I concentrated on my breathing I could feel everything starting to fade away for the moment and I was more then happy to let it.    Within the meditation we were brought to a clearing in a forest.  A fox was there to greet us and lead us to a cottage with a fire outside.  The fox has unbelievable meaning for me alone so I was baffled to say the least when he was a feature in today's meditation.  Followed by being led to a cottage in a forest.  This whole scene I have seen many times in my dreams and meditations.  It is a place I visit quite frequently.  So to be led there during a meditation at this ritual I was astounded to say the least.  Next to the fire was a stump with a quill pen and paper on which you were to write what you wished to create.  I don't think an alarm could have gone off next to me and brought me out of that meditation, it took me no time at all to write my desires and what I wished to achieve this year on the piece of paper and throw it onto the fire watching the sparkly smoke swirl up and carry my thoughts to the universe.

The ritual as always was amazing :)) I did not have the seed and pot to plant a new plant like I did last year but I intend to go get it as soon as I can get out of my driveway lol :)))) I'm surrounded by snow, I mean lots of snow, and the cold of winter but I know that spring is very near as well as the new beginnings that I desire.

I made the graphic above while meditating on my experience with the ritual this afternoon.  I hope you will like it.  Have a Blessed Imbolc

Love and Blessings
