A Flower For Those Who Have Crossed

"I threw a flower into the ocean for her. It’s an old island custom. My mother said it sent a message toward people who had passed over. … I feel better. I feel like I did something to give that girl some peace."

One of my favorite shows is the Mentalist.  I watched episode 5 last night.  A woman was murdered right next to the ocean.  An old woman was sitting with Patrick and she said, I threw a flower into the ocean for her. It’s an old island custom. My mother said it sent a message toward people who had passed over. … I feel better. I feel like I did something to give that girl some peace."  What she said struck me immediately as this is something that I have done in the past.  So I was surprised to see it on tv.  It's not something I'd ever seen before, just something I had always done by instinct.  An extra way of saying goodbye for me and letting my loved ones know that had crossed that I love them.

At the end of the episode they showed Patrick Jane at the ocean.  For those of you who don't watch the show his wife and daughter were murdered before he came to work for the California Bureau of Investigation.  The video is above.  It is only 53 seconds in length but one of the most powerful scenes I've seen on tv in quite some time.  For those of you who are empaths, make sure to shield before you watch it as it's emotional.  For the first time in a long time I found myself struggling to hold back tears and emotions as it triggered the times I had done the very same thing.

I decided to go to bed right after I watched the episode.  What happened next still has me baffled.  I just got the new iphone the other day.  Hooorrayyy finally a phone that works! lol  My old one really needed to be replaced.  In any event... before I go to bed each night I have an incense burner next to my bed that I light a tea light in and burn eucalyptus spearmint oil in each night.  It helps to relax me.  I set my phone on the table next to my bed.  I was extra careful because being new I don't want anything to happen to it.  I still need to get a case for it.  I was still quite overcome with emotion.  I lit a candle and said a silent prayer for My Gram, Grandpa, and Daisy, my furbaby, and told them that I loved them.  As I lit the candle and put it in the burner, My phone actually lifted up, almost an inch in the air.  Moved off of my table and floated, I mean floated to the floor, landing softly on a tshirt that was under my nightstand.  I was baffled to say the least.  I know that phone was perfect on that nightstand. None of it was hanging off the stand at all.  There is no way for this phone to lift in the air.  It's not that light!  And even if there was nothing would blow it straight up for an inch.  And the way it fell to the floor, it looked like a feather.  Very light with a back and forth motion.  It was as if someone lifted it up and carried it gently to the floor.

My guess is that they got my message of love.  This is an incredible time of the year for me.  I am loving that it is easier to communicate.  This is the first thinning of the veil that I am truly enjoying my ability to communicate and receive messages from those who have crossed before us.

Love and Blessings to You All,

The last harvest is in as turns the new year
while the chill of Yule draws ever so near.
The dead will join our festive feasts,
giving glimpses of our past, present and future feats.
Come young maidens, mothers and crones-

The Spirits Help Mom

Merry Meet :))

My mom was all excited when I came over the other day.  She couldn't get the words out fast enough to tell me what had happened while I was away.

She came over to watch my little ones for me the other night so that I could go out and get them birthday presents.  She had just finished making them dinner.  My daughter was settling down to draw and my son was reading a book.  My mom likes to have some noise in the house.  So she said to my daughter, "Melody it's really quiet in here I'd really like to put on some music."  My daughter says, "Grandma, you know what happened last time you touched Mommy's computer."  My mom and daughter both tell me that right after my daughter finished saying that my Celtic Music came on my Pandora radio on the computer.

They both just stood there and stared at each other.  "Did you turn that on Melody?", my mom asked.  "No...... I thought you did Grandma?"   "No......" My mom says.

They were both baffled by what had happened.  My computer was closed.  My Pandora radio had timed out. So in order to get it back on, they would have to open the computer, and get the screen to come back then hit ok for the radio to come back on.

My theory? My grandfather or grandmother wanted to let my mom know they were around. :))))

So my mom tells me that she has heard me telling of all these things happening in my house and always had a hard time believing me.  She believes now, she says. lol   It can be difficult to believe in physical things happening unless you've had the opportunity to see them for yourself.  They use to scare me.  I've become quite use to them now and they always make me smile.  I love that they have helped deepen my mother's belief.

Love and Blessings,

Samhain Poem

Samhain's come.
Begin this year
Libation for the dead
May our way be clear
As the veil sheds
A glimpse we do see
Beyond this realm
Through the eyes of history
Summer's end
May the sun god rest
Welcome moon Lady
And all of your best
Let us dance and sing
Be merry and free
Our harvest is done
And blessed we be!

The Great Pumpkin Share

Merry Meet :)))

Everyone getting ready for Samhain? One of the traditions we do each year at our house is carving pumpkins.

The story of the jack-o-lantern is as follows: (from

One of the most enduring symbols of Halloween is the jack o'lantern. Carved pumpkins are a mainstay of the Samhain season, and for some folks, the more elaborate the carved design, the better! A jack o'lantern typically holds a candle (you can also get battery-powered tealights, which are a lot safer) which illuminates the carved out design. School children are alternately delighted and terrified by them -- but how did the whole idea of carving up a pumpkin evolve in the first place?
The Turnip Issue:
Some scholars have claimed that the idea of a hollowed-out vegetable with a candle in the middle originated with the Celts. However, the Celts didn't have pumpkins, which are a North American plant. They did have beets, turnips, and other root vegetables. Have you ever tried to hollow out a raw beet? It's quite an experience, believe me.

In addition, it's pretty unlikely that the Celts carved faces into their vegetables. So the tradition of the jack o'lantern is a fairly modern invention, by historical standards, although no one has been able to figure out exactly when it began.

American Jacks:
As mentioned, the pumpkin is a vegetable known primarily to North Americans. The native tribes here used it as a source of food for years before white men even set foot on their soil.

The first example of the jack o'lantern appearing in American literature is in an 1837 story by Nathaniel Hawthorne, who wrote The Scarlet Letter. The carved lantern didn't become associated with Halloween until around the time of the Civil War.

The Jack Story:
In many cultures, there exist what is known as a "Jack story". These are basically a series of folktales that revolve around a character -- Tricky Jack, Clever Jack, etc. -- and usually start off with Jack getting in some sort of trouble. They always end with Jack resolving his problem, often at his own expense -- in other words, a Jack Story is a typical cautionary tale. You can find these types of tales around the world, from Germany to the Scottish Highlands to the hills of Appalachia.

In the case of the jack o'lantern, the story that inspired it is one in which Jack tries to outsmart the Devil himself. In the tale, Jack tricks the Devil into agreeing never to collect his soul. However, once Jack dies, it turns out he's led too sinful a life to get into heaven, but because of his bargain with the Devil, he can't get into hell either. Jack complains about how dark it is, wandering around earth with no place to go, and someone tosses him a hot coal, which he places in a hollowed-out turnip. Now poor Jack uses his turnip-lantern to guide him, and he is known as Jack of the Lantern.

In some variations of the story, Jack comes out only on Halloween night, and is looking for someone to take his place... so watch out, if you see him wandering your way!for someone to take his place... so watch out, if you see him wandering your way!
My family and I spent time carving our pumpkins last night. :)) We cranked up the halloween music and spent over an hour making our pumpkins.  The one with the wolf and the moon at the top is mine.  The pig is ted-pig from Pokemon and is my daughter's who is 8, and the little white one is my son's who is 4.  We would love to see yours!  If you are willing to share please send a picture of your pumpkin or pumpkins to with "The Great Pumpkin Share" in the subject line as well as any details you are comfy sharing, first name, age, state or country etc.  I will put them up all in a blog entry right before Samhain.  Let's see those pumpkins!!! :)))))

Mysterious Ways....

Merry Meet :)

I have been told that I will be working with my gifts for my life path.  I've never been certain in what capacity, but have always felt that it would be helping people. I've been told many times to write this blog and make sure I put it all out there, so that others will know what it's like to walk the path.  I don't consider myself a writer, so this path has always baffled me a bit, but here I sit writing to you, in the hopes that something I say may help one of you along your path.

I attended a tarot seminar recently where the teacher told me how she was called to her path.  She use to work in Hollywood as a costume designer.  She felt called to her path and didn't answer.  She found herself in a car accident and distinctly remembers the ambulance driver whom she felt to be an angel asking if she was going to listen now.

Ok so that sounds a little bit harsh.  That is her story though and I believe it.  Some of us come here with very specific tasks that we may or may not remember.  If you pay attention to the signs along your path it will help you to stay on the right one.  However, we still have free will to decide to go off of our path.  I've been taking classes and working on learning to help people through being a medium and developing my skills there, through using my intuition to help me with divination and tarot card readings to help with giving advice, and through my empath skills to help people to heal both physically and mentally.  That same teacher told me when I was there that I have been called.  She said you can choose to answer it, but you're going there if you choose it or not.

I love what I do and I honestly am happiest when I'm on my path.  It's where my passion is.  I can't learn enough about it quick enough.  However there's still the issue of what makes things work this life.  Money.  I would love to devote 8 hours a day but I have my work around the house, my children, and two other websites that I run solely to generate an income for myself.  I am an affiliate advertiser.  Almost 90% of my income is generated from people who click on Google Adsense links that run within my websites.

For the past week I've been noticing my income taking a hit.  I've not seen days this low as far as income goes since I started this when my daughter was born eight years ago.  Apparently google released a "minor" update to how their search engines work.  That minor update wiped out upwards of 70% of my traffic on my two main sites.  Thus a loss in 70% of my income on those sites.  Funny thing I noticed is that this blog's traffic increased 10 fold.  How anyone makes money with blogs I'm not sure, but I know adsense doesn't work on here. lol  If I could figure that out I could drop the other two websites and just stay with what I love which is my path and this blog.

In any event, I will be taking a leap of faith and focusing a lot more time and energy in on this blog, as "I've been called." lol   I just hope the Goddess finds a means to help me out financially as well. I just thought it ironic all the times I had been told this, then with the events of yesterday, clearly the choice to be made is to follow my path.  I use this as an example to illustrate how the divine can help you to stay on your path.  I know my income is taking a huge hit right now, but I also know that I am ok, and trust them to take care of me and my little ones as I do their will.

Has anyone else had experiences like that? Where you've felt you should make a decision as it was your path, but had a hard time taking the plunge?

A friend of mine sent me this quote last night in light of what's been happening to me.  I love it :) Hope you enjoy it as well.

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can.  Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be ecumbered with your old nonsense." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hope everyone has a blessed day today.

A Walk in the Woods

Merry Meet,

I was sitting here working and the afternoon air was just calling to me.  So I decided to go off on an adventure with my son.  I put him in the car and we drove up the road a ways through this area that has always just fascinated me. The town is called Granville and it is just one town up from where I live.  There is a certain area that I am quite fond of.  It is an older area.  It's mostly water shed land now.  It's just miles and miles of woods, old trails, stone walls, and brooks.  The perfect stomping ground for someone like me and my children.  Once we reached that area  I felt an urge to pull over on the side of the road.  It was a spot that I hadn't explored yet.

There was a trail leading up into the woods.  It went up a hill.  At the top of the hill we found a pretty small old cemetery.  The stones were dated in the early to mid 1800's.  We explored the different stones for about 15 minutes.  The path up the middle of this little cemetery just jumped out at me.  If you notice it goes right up into the woods.

I couldn't help but notice the trees around the cemetery.  Almost all of them were completely black in color.  Just beautiful to see.

We wandered through the trees a bit and made our way up this hill.  At the top of the hill we came to a trail down into the woods.  Along the length of the trail there was a stone wall.  I have always loved stone wall.  I love looking into the woods to see how the land use to be and what use to be there.  This area looked to be old farmland as the trees were all quite similar in size.  I brought a bag for my son and we had a ball picking out pine cones and acorns and beautiful rocks along the way.  My son absolutely love rocks.  All kinds.  They fascinate him and we can sit in areas for hours just looking at them.  He especially loves the micah that we find around here.

We continued up the trail and noticed a bend in the road up ahead.  My son was excited to see what was around the corner.  When we got there we were rewarded by a stream running across the road.

It ran down through the woods on one side and went down into a pretty little waterfall on the other side.
We sat there for quite some time throwing little stones in the water and just listening to the wind in the trees.  I am blessed to have children that love the woods as much as I do.  They can easily stay out there most of the day.  Nature is a huge playground for them.

Hope you enjoyed the photos! :)

Just Wow.....

Merry Meet :)))

I just had the most amazing thing happen.  I've been seeing a therapist since May.  I have had a message from her from the other side for about 4 months now.  Given the nature of our relationship and the personal sensitivity of the message I have refrained from passing along the message.  It's been nagging at me the whole time though.

So I went out on a limb today and gave her the message.  I did it the best I could, warned her it was sensitive and told her she didn't need to tell me if it was accurate.  I felt better after I told her though.  As I was driving home I was questioning myself as I always do. I actually said out loud in the car, "Did I do as you wanted me to? I would love a sign right now or at some point today to let me know. "  I'm all for the validating that I'm not crazy and these things are really happening.  Not a moment after the words left my mouth I caught sight of a ball in the field on the side of me.  It was pouring out so I pulled over to the side of the road.  Not one but seven deer were in the field.  One of them was looking straight at me.

This is not the first time I've seen a deer right after something spiritual happened to me.  You can one of them  looking right at me in the picture.  There is another one to the left of it.  They were all over the field eating in the rain so I couldn't capture them all in the same picture, but just so you get to see. I'm still shaking at how fast I got that message.  They were right next to the road.  Cars went by but they all just sat there eating and the one in the pic kept watching me.  Just an amazing amazing experience and validation for me.  I am very grateful right now.

The Deer

Woodland dreams of intuition come with the graceful deer.
I greet you, brothers of the forest.
Your gift of magic will brighten my life.
Transformation will come to me.
Like you, I stand listening to the drum beat of life,
Poised to follow my guiding spirits.

Gentleness and Innocence
Deer teaches us to use the power of gentleness
to touch the hearts and minds of
wounded beings who are in our lives.
Don't push towards change in others,
rather gently nudge them in right direction
with the love that comes from a Deer totem.
When a Deer totem shows up in your life,
a new innocence and freshness in about to be awakened.
There is going to be a gentle lure of new adventures.
There will  be an opportunity to express the gentle love
that will open new doors for you.

Deer, Power Animal, Symbol of Gentleness, Unconditional Love and Kindness

By Ina Woolcott

Deer's medicine includes gentleness in word, thought and touch. The ability to listen, grace and appreciation for the beauty of balance. Understanding of what's necessary for survival, power of gratitude and giving, ability to sacrifice for the higher good, connection to the woodland goddess, alternative paths to a goal

In the Celtic tradition, there are two aspects of deer - female and male. The Hind (the red female deer), called Eilid in the Gaelic language, symbolises femininity, subtlety and gracefulness. The Hind is believed to call to us from the Faery realm, tempting us to release the material trappings of so-called 'civilization', to go deep into the forest of magic, to explore our own magical and spiritual nature. The topic gentleness is part of this tradition. Many stories tell of Hinds changing into women, often goddesses, to protect does from being hunted. The lesson to be gleaned here is that when we explore magic and spirituality, it must be with good intention, to harm no living being, but to enter the realm of the wild things in the spirit of love and communion. The Stag, Damh in the Gaelic tongue, is also linked to the sacredness of the magical forest. The Damh represents independence, purification, and pride. It is known as the King of the Forest, the protector of its creatures. For time immemorial people have sought to identify with the stag by ceremonially wearing antlered headdresses and imitating the deer's leaping grace.

Both Celtic and Native American hunters prayed to the deer to give them a good hunt, and in return promised to take no more than was essential for the survival of the tribe. This helps remind us that our spirit of gentleness and unconditional love should extend to all species, not only our own.

Maybe the most effective way to summarize the lessons of these beliefs, is to say that only when we move through life in the spirit of love for all beings can we melt the barriers that separate us from others, from other life forms, and from the beautiful mystery which is our own magical and spiritual gift.

By observing the ways in which deer behave, it is possible to see what amazing qualities - or powers - they possess. From the deer we can learn that the gift of gentleness and caring can help us overcome and put aside many testing situations. Only love, both for ourselves and for others, helps us understand the true meaning of wholeness.

If a deer crosses your path, this may show you that you are a very compassionate, gentle and loving person. If you don't have these qualities, then consider if you have a problem that needs addressing. Are you facing a challenge in your life, whether with a fellow human being or a delicate situation? If you are feeling negative emotions such as anger, try letting go. Think about whether a gentler and more loving approach can sort the issue out. It may be necessary to speak the truth, this is best done with kindness and from the heart, this will generally give a better result.

Deer teaches us how powerful it is to be of gentle demeanour, to exert keen observation and sensitivity. Deer's are in tune with nature and all it comprises. They are sacred carriers of peace and show those with this power animal how to open their hearts and love unconditionally.

Frequently twins or even triplets are born in the spring. Females and males reside in separate groups until the mating season. White-tailed deer are rather sociable, and family members forage food together along with other family groups, which gives the appearance of a large herd. Fawns are born a colour that protects them, camouflaging them from a predator’s sight. In the first few days of their life they hardly move, until their energy field is strong and grounded. They then stand up and begin to follow their mother around. A magical sight to behold is fawns coming out of forests, following their tenderly protective mothers. Even when grazing, the mothers are constantly watchful, fully aware and alert of what is going on all around them. They travel through forest and field with deliberateness and clarity, mindful of the fragile creature they nurture and protect. There is a powerful lesson to be learned here by us. Though we are born with an inborn ability to be unconditionally loving, often we are born to parents whose life experiences have taught them to become hard, and to lose that ability to experience and give unconditional love. Watching the deer and her babies is a reminder to honour and respect the child-like innocence within your self and go about your life with gentleness and an open heart. You should also stand strong on your path, in your beliefs, and not allow yourself to get distracted by outside influences.

Deer has entered your life to help you walk the path of love with full consciousness and awareness, to know that love sometimes requires caring and protection, not only in how we love others, but also in how we love ourselves.

A deer's senses are very acute and they see extremely well in low light, giving them the ability to understand the deeper symbolic meanings of things. They can hear a twig snap a very long way off. People with this power animal are often described as being swift and alert. They are intuitive, often seeming to possess well developed, even extrasensory perceptions. Sometimes their thoughts seem to race ahead, and they appear not to be listening, to be somewhere else. Anyone with power animal has latent clairvoyant and clairaudient abilities. They can see between the shadows, detect subtle movements and hear that which is not being uttered. Ask the deer to help you develop these true gifts.

The set of antlers grown by the male deer are antennae that connect it to higher energies. If you come across a deer in the wild, try to count the number of points on their antlers. This number is associated with numerology and can carry great significance for those with this power animal.

Deer teaches us to be gentle, to touch the hearts and minds of wounded beings who are in our lives. Don't push people to change, rather gently nudge them in right direction, with the love that comes from deer. Love and accept people as they are. The balance of true power lays in love and compassion.

When a Deer totem enters your world, a new innocence and freshness in about to be awakened. New adventures are just around the corner and there will be an opportunity to express the gentle love that will open new doors for you.

First Across the Veil Reading

Merry meet :)))

Sacred Mists opens a board called "Across the Veils" twice each year for about 2 weeks when the Veil is the thinnest.  It is a place for those of us whom are able to pass messages from the other side to do so for our sisters and brothers of the Mists.  This board has always intrigued me.  I wanted to post messages for people the last time it was up, but was still nervous about my abilities.

I have taken that leap today.  I feel as if I was shoved out of the nest to read for people in the past couple of days.  One of my students in the Empathy class was having experiences that she was struggling to explain.  For confidentiality reasons I will not reveal who she is or too many of the details.  But I feel it's significant to explain what drove me to take the leap.  The minute I read her post asking for help I could feel a presence with me.  I had a very difficult time answering her homework as this spirit was encouraging me to speak to her for her.  It was this students Mom.  I knew I needed to wait till the Across the Veil Board opened.  So I have felt this person with me several times over the past few days.

This board was opened yesterday.  When I woke up this morning I felt like I was all but dragged to my computer.  Think of a little child dragging her mom to the Christmas tree Christmas morning.  lol   I was bleary eyed and hadn't even had my coffee yet, but I knew what I was to do.  I sat down immediately and logged into the Mists.  On the Across the Veil board she had posted a request for a reading.  The door was now open for me to pass her the message her Mom so wanted delivered.  I sat for the next 20 minutes and the words just flowed out of me.  It was if I wasn't even there.  In a way I wasn't as I hadn't had my coffee yet. :P   After I typed everything I reread it several times.  It was a profound message of love, and spiritual insight, complete with validations.

Now I am just awaiting anxiously hoping that the message will be well received, and that the validations I received will prove to be accurate.  I feel two things happened here.  I feel a mother's love from the other side who was determined to have her daughter receive her message, and I feel that it was passed through me in order to push myself out of the nest and get me out there reading for people.  An ability that I've known that I have for awhile have just been fearful of getting something wrong.  But I suppose everyone had to start somewhere? I can't know if I get something wrong if I don't try.  However, with this message I am quite confident that I delivered it well. :))))

A Day Off To Enjoy Autumn

Merry Meet :)))

I took the day off to enjoy Autumn with my children yesterday.  It was beautiful. I love when fall comes and the air turns crisp, and the colors get so vibrant when the sun hits the leaves on the trees.  It's just magickal to me.  The smells of autumn as well. :) In my opinion none can beat them.  The smell of the fires burning in the homes, and home cooking, and apples, and that fresh air.

So my little ones and I went to get pumpkins yesterday. We went to several farms looking for the perfect pumpkins.  They even took a haunted trainride at one of the farms.  It was a little train the farmers had built over a tracter.  The kids loved it.  It wasn't too scary, and the ride featured a lot of characters from their favorite shows.  There is nothing better then watching your kids run about with rosy cheeks and big smiles on their faces.  We each chose a pumpkin to bring home.   My son chose a white one, the rest are orange.

To make our day even better we finally got a new couch.  We have been needing a new couch for quite some time now.  Our old one was over 10 years old and really falling apart.  We got a four piece leather sectional that has a chase lounge on the end.  I'm sitting on it right now as I write to you.  It's a higher sofa so I am sitting next to the window in the front of my house watching the son light up all the different colors of the mountain.  It's absolutely beautiful.

We also decorated for Samhain/Halloween this weekend. So my house is filled with orange lights and all sorts of decorations.  Add to it some apple and pumpkin scented castles and you have a happy girl over here. :)))))

Hope all of you are doing well as well.  Did you get your pumpkins yet? How are you decorating this year.

Love and Blessings to You All,

Daily Affirmation:  I draw up energy from the earth. I fill myself and am happy.

White Candle Spell

White Candle Spell

What You Need:

 - A white candle, either a plain one (offertory, pillar or taper) or a figural one in the gender of the person you want to bless.
 - Blessing oil or holy oil
 - Optional: A name-paper, a photo or a personal item of whom you want to bless

Carve the person's full name on the candle then dress it with blessing oil or holy oil.

For more power, you may place the name-paper of the person, the photo, or personal item of theirs (such as a bit of hair or a piece of clothing) either under the candle or next to it.  One easy way to do this is to place the paper or personal item under an overturned saucer and put the candle on top of the saucer.  Burn a portion of the candle every day for seven days, pinching it out between burnings. As you light it each day, say:

"Name" may you be blessed,
May all good things come to you,
May nothing whatsoever harm you,
May your heart be light,
May your travels be safe,
May your health be good,
May your mind be sound,
May your friendships sustain you,
May you be blessed in every way."

If you have a special request for this person (such as that they find a lover, get a good job, come home safely, etc) just add it to the list.

Some people use a large pillar-type candle and keep it going for longer then seven days.  They make a habit of burning such a candle every day, or once a week, for as long as their beloved needs help.

If the candle is large and it is to be burned in this way, it should be redressed with blessing oil or holy oil once a week.

Autumn's Embrace

Merry Meet,

I came across this video today and wanted to share it.  It was created by Wiccan Visions using the music from Celtic Woman: Last Rose of Summer, Waling In the Air.  I absolutely love the song, and the video is just gorgeous.  It was a refreshing magickal journey into Autumn for me.  I think you will love it.  Enjoy!

Cherokee Morning Song

Merry Meet :)

I just came across this video on facebook. I know some of you are working with native american guides.  I personally have found a lot of similarities between the culture and how I practice as a Wiccan.  There are so many things I identify with. My grandfather loved them and as I look back at his life I realize how many things he did that related to their culture. I've often been asked if I have any native american in my background particularly because of how my daughter looks.  I have been working with and if there are any links in my line I have not found them.  I still have a deep respect for them.  So for those of you who appreciate them, you will love this video.  The music is so soothing and I love the pictures in it.  Enjoy!

Heirloom Message

Merry Meet :))

When I was little I was fascinated with unicorns and magic, like most little girls. My grandfather was with me one day and he bought me a beautiful australian crystal heart with a unicorn inside of it.  I loved that necklace and wore it for ages.  It's one of the few things I have left from my grandfather.  My little girl is 7 and is fascinated with unicorns and anything magical as well.  In an attempt to help foster this love I passed on my heart from my grandfather to her.  I put it on a rope necklace along with a moonglow charm that is just like mine.  The moon in the charm shows the phase of the moon on the day she was born and glows in the dark.  She loves the moon as well.  She absolutely loved the necklace and wore it every day around her neck.  Almost a year ago now she took her necklace off for gymnastics practice and we were unable to find it. (The necklace is in the picture)

We tore her room apart for days on end trying to find the necklace as both of us were quite upset with the loss.  We finally accepted that it was gone and moved on.  For the past week I've been doing a lot of work with my little girl on cleaning her room.  Everyone knows kids aren't the neatest of people. :)) I always tell her that the fairies won't visit a messy room. Fairies are another one of her passions.   So the other day I was out here working on a particularly challenging life lesson for myself.  I had just made a difficult choice. During the day I had been asking for a sign from my grandfather. I just wanted reassurance that I wasn't alone.  I was putting the dishes away and my daughter came running into the kitchen all flushed with excitement.  She held out her hand to me with the happiest look on her face.  It took me a moment to register what was in her hand....

It was the necklace! Almost a year later she had it clutched in her hand.  I managed to sputter out where in the world did you find that??? She told me it was in her top desk drawer.  "I don't understand Mommy" she says.  "I've looked in that drawer so many times and it's never been there.  It was right on top."  I told her that it was likely a message from the fairies letting her know they were proud of all the hard work she's been doing on her room.  She was thrilled.  While I do believe that the fae may have helped with this I also believe it was a sign for me as well.  The timing on it was too ironic.

That night we were driving to bring my car back to the shop.  I always take time to show my children the moon each night.  My daughter started shrieking from the back seat "Mommy look at the moon!" I was like huh? "Yes it's beautiful tonight isn't it" I told her.  It was, it was just absolutely glowing in the night sky.  Then my daughter says, "Mom it's the moon from my necklace".  Indeed it was.  The moon was the same moon phase as the night she was born.   Clearly a sign for the both of us.  Always believe.

Abundance Manifestation

"I accept good graciously into my life.  All of my needs are met abundantly for me now and always."

Merry Meet :)

Like many others out there I am among those struggling to make ends meet.  While I am grateful for all that I have, bills and financial issues are definitely one of my stresses in life.  One of the ones that I need to let go of.

So this morning I pulled a card from my Healing with the Angels Oracle Deck by Doreen Virtue.  The card reads as follows:

"A new flow of support is coming to you right now.  Ask the angels to help you release fears about scarcity so that you can enjoy this increased abundance.

Your messenger angels announce the arrival of an inflow of abuncance coming your way.  The source of all abundance is God, and you at some level had faith that the Creator would supply your needs.  Your faith, even if it was small, triggered the abundance that is manifesting for you right now.  Keep the faith, as it will ensure a steady flow of support materially, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually.  A wonderful affirmation to help you stay in the stream of a steady flow of abundance is: "I accept good graciously into my life.  All of my needs are met abundantly for me now and always."

I love the affirmation that is on this card.  I think that it is definitely important and one I will be working with.  It's one thing to know how important it is to think positively about things, it's another to be able to accomplish this when things look a bit bleak. :) So I am writing that affirmation down on a piece of paper and tucking it in my pocket for the next few days to work with it.  Every time I feel monetary stress creeping in I will say this affirmation and release my fears to my angels to help me get through this time.

My guides know that I like getting signs several times and I am grateful to them for indulging me with this.  Immediately after pulling this card, I opened a newsletter from Sacred Mists.  One of the articles in the newsletter tells about a new blog that they have started,  Riding the Recession: A Witch's Guide to Manifesting Abundance Through Intention and Action.  This is the description of the blog:
"The news all over the world strikes fear in our hearts. Headlines include terrifying statements such as financial collapse, credit rating downgrades, bankrupt countries, sliding dollar values, cataclysmic stock market slides, high unemployment ratings, riots… the list seems endless. The global mindset is in a spiraling, free fall fueled by every negative imaginable. However, as Wiccans and witches, we know what happens when our minds and hearts are focused on negativity: that’s exactly what we’ll manifest and continue. We must remember that abundance (or lack thereof) is a result of energy exchange and we’ll get what we give and focus on, be it positive or negative.
By focusing on what we want to happen as opposed to what we feel (or are told) is happening, we can start a global shift in consciousness that can heal the right here and right now. I’m often asked, “but how do I do that when I’m faced with losing my job, losing my house, bills I can’t pay, and the news telling me that things are getting even worse??” That’s a tough one, to be sure, but I can share with you what has been helping me and my family.
Together we can make it happen!
Magickal Blessings,
Lady Raven Moonshadow

The Perfect Clover

Merry Meet :)

I found the perfect clover yesterday. :) We've had almost two straight weeks of rain. Yesterday was just gorgeous outside.  It was chilly but not to cold.  I was at home trying to get through laundry and my work for the day when I realized I was alone! Sounds very simple but not something that happens to me often.   I had a bit over an hour of free time and here I was working. So I stopped what I was doing, grabbed Max, my golden retriever and headed out for a walk.

It was beautiful out! Within the first moment of setting out I found the clover that you see in the picture growing out of a crack in the road. How no car had run it over I have no clue.  But it stood there tall and proud all by itself blowing gracefully in the wind.  I took it to be a sign that I was on the right path.  Not two minutes later I heard a loud sound from a tree.  I looked up to find a huge crow sitting at the top of the tree staring down at me.  I stood there and watched him for a moment.  I saw him several more times on my walk.

I took my time and looked at what Max was sniffing, and picked a couple wildflowers along my walk to put in my kitchen with the clover.  We stopped and sat in a field for a few minutes to watch a flock of geese get into that perfect "V" formation and fly over us.  The entire time I was listening to what was going on around me and watching.  It was a beautiful quiet walk.  The area I'm in is quite wooded as well.  I love looking at the landscape and how the land use to be.  I am able to "see"  the past.  I can see snapshots in my mind of how things use to look.  Is the best way I can thing to describe it. So it's really a treat for me when I get to walk in an older area and compare how things looked then with now.

I am going to have to make more of an effort to get alone time to take walks outside.   It's really a big difference in how I can sense things when I am on my own.

The Resting Tree

"The Resting Tree is a sign for you to stop focusing and planning and be at peace in the moment.  This is the representative of non-action and relaxation.  Patience is the key to being with this Ally."

Merry Meet :)))

I've been a bit quiet for the past week.  I unfortunately suffered a ruptured kidney cyst and then managed to get the flu on top of it.  So I've been panicking for the last week trying to get some of my work done while being in a haze of pain pills to help with the pain and feeling as if I was going to fall asleep on my keyboard.  I did this for about a week.  A friend of mine asked me yesterday morning when I was going to actually rest and work on getting myself better.  I was baffled.... I'd stopped doing most of the physical work for the last week.   I thought about it for the next hour and realized that I get in these phases where I will literally work myself to death.   I set unrealistic expectations of myself and don't set aside time to relax and just enjoy life. It gets worse if I am sick or in pain. I am so determined not to fail I can't see anything else. Even though I hadn't been doing as much physical work I had been mentally working myself the past week in some attempt to compensate for not doing enough physical work in my mind.  Yes I'm an overachiever. :)

That one sentence said to me by my friend, made a huge impact on me yesterday.  So I took all day yesterday off. I snuggled a lot more with my kids, I watched extra tv, played a game on the computer, read a bit and just relaxed and concentrated on nothing but being happy for the day.  I woke up this morning well rested, and I feel better today then I have in a week.  I know within the next couple days I will be back in full swing. I made a decision to let all the stress go yesterday, stop trying to control things that are out of my control right now and do what my friend told me to, work on getting myself better.

I typically do tarot pulls for myself daily.  One of the decks I work with is an oracle deck called Wisdom of the Hidden Realms by Collette Baron-Reid. I absolutely love this deck.  If you've not had the chance to give it a looksie I definitely recommend it.  It's a gorgeous oracle deck. In any event, I pulled the card "The Resting Tree" this morning.  My readings always surprise me with how accurate they are to my current situation.  I had a huge "aha" moment this morning when I saw this card.  You see, I know I'm guilty of getting caught up in work and letting stress overwhelm me.  I'm quite sure I'm not the only one guilty of this.  Here's the thing, the energy you are putting out will attract similar energy.  So if I'm stressed and putting out stressful energy it's like putting up a beacon saying send me more crap luck. :P  By taking the time to take regular time outs, focus and center, you can stop the pattern of negativity.  My house is cleaner today, everything is under control, my work load is manageable, and my friends and children are all happy today.  Coincidence? You decide. :)

Love and Blessings,

The Resting Tree

"The Resting Tree is a sign for you to stop focusing and planning and be at peace in the moment.  This is the representative of non-action and relaxation.  Patience is the key to being with this Ally.

The Resting Tree asks you to slow down, sit back, and watch the roses bloom and the birds feed in the meadow. This isn't the time to forge ahead in any way.  You may not be taking enough breaks, so you're invited to be still and contemplate your good fortune, even if it means blessing the chaos in your life.  This is a sign to allow everything to fall away except the stillness of the moment; it's like living within the space between breaths.

When the Resting Tree appears, it signals that you've done all you can for now and it's time to unwind and allow your story to unfold of its own accord.  You've earned the right to rest and relax.  Amazing ideas will come if you do.  Remember the ancient saying "We do without doing and everything gets done."

The Resting Tree appearing as a Challenger asks you to consider if you're so frenetic that all you can think about is how stressed you are.  Running around and overdoing anything only makes you into a human "doing," not a human "being."  This is a sign to be careful or you may become physically ill, or at the very least , unable to enjoy your life.

Be still.  It's time to meditate and take time out or you'll make some mistakes that you may regret later.  Don't worry; all those things you're trying to manage will still be there when you're ready to move forward again. Only then will you have a clearer head with which to think. "
