Flame Divination

Merry Meet :)

I have been studying different forms of divination over the past couple of weeks.  One form that I touched upon was Pyromancy.  This is the art of divination by the means of fire.  I had a question about it that I've been searching for an answer to without much luck.  I typically take meditative baths using a candle.  One of the ways I meditate is to stare into the flame.  I have noticed that the flame of the candle can actually be used quite similar to a pendulum.  For those of you who know me, you know I test everything a lot. :) I have done this several times over a period of several months and have had it work almost as faithfully as my pendulum.  It will give me a yes answer by going in a circle.  No the flame jumps back and forth.  For questions that are vague or unsure it goes up and down and shakes. It's been intriguing me for quite some time so I 've searched the internet to no avail.  I found several types of Pyromancy but nothing close to this method.

I asked a fellow sister of the Mists, and she said she hadn't done it that way but sees how it could work.  I'm curious what your experiences are with it, if any, or if you get a chance to try it out let me know how you make out! :)

The Impossible Dream

The Impossible Dream

To dream ... the impossible dream ...
To fight ... the unbeatable foe ...
To bear ... with unbearable sorrow ...
To run ... where the brave dare not go ...
To right ... the unrightable wrong ...
To love ... pure and chaste from afar ...
To try ... when your arms are too weary ...
To reach ... the unreachable star ...

This is my quest, to follow that star ...
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far ...
To fight for the right, without question or pause ...
To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause ...

And I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm,
when I'm laid to my rest ...
And the world will be better for this:
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach ... the unreachable star ...

Gemstones and Protection Spell

Merry Meet,

Some of you may know I have been working quite a bit with gemstones over the last few months.  I'm very interested in healing so have been working a lot with the stones to learn how to heal both emotionally and physically.  I spent this afternoon making up a personal gemstone bag for myself with crystals that I wish to have in it, and writing a gemstone spell for protection, to charge one of the crystals that I will include in my bag.  I know several of you who read this blog are empaths and highly sensitive so I thought you might like to see what I   came up with. :))

Moonstone - Moonstone has a reflective and calming energy.  Moonstone is a stone for “new beginnings”.  It’s a stone of inner growth and strength.  Moonstone soothes stress and anxiety.  It strengthens intuition and psychic perception, promotes inspiration, success and good fortune in love and business.  It helps to aid the digestive system, dieting, gardening, psychic awareness and meditation.  It stimulates the pineal gland and balances hormonal cycles.  Placed under the pillow it can allow for more peaceful sleep.  The Rainbow Moonstone can be cleansing and uplifting because of it’s broad spectrum of colors. I have been drawn to this stone for quite some time now and I have one that I wear all the time.

Sunstone - Compliments the Moonstone. Sunstone is a very positive gemstone.  It promotes good humor, cheerfulness and an even temper.  It can help to provide energy to help complete tasks that one may find daunting.   The Sunstone helps to provide self-confidence and assists in discovering your own nature and living accordingly.  It helps maintain a positive attitude towards life.  Keep a Sunstone with you if you have difficulty saying “no” to people and you continually sacrifice for others.  It will detach feelings of abandonment and discrimination, remove inhibitions and hangups, and reverse feelings of failure.  This stone helps to increase your self-worth and confidence giving you encouraging optimism and enthusiasm.  It enhances the holders self healing powers.  It’s healing properties include stimulating the autonomic nervous system and enhancing the functioning of all body organs.  It’s very helpful in cases of exhaustion.  You can use it to treat sore throats and relieve the pain of stomach ulcers.  This stone has been very effective at helping with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).  Sunstone can help to lift depression.

Sapphire - Historically the star sapphire is used to protect the wearer by reflecting harmful or evil spells back to the sender.  Sapphires can be used to open yourself up to spiritual messages, and aid you in clarifying what the information received means to you.  When used during meditation it can help you find your hidden potential and see the vision of your life’s work.  Sapphires will help to clear a mental path for your new journey.  Sapphires are also helpful in achieving material dreams and maintaining wealth once you acquire it.  Sapphire is the most effective healing stone for the nervous system.  It is helpful for nervous heart trouble.  It can also aid in strengthening the walls of blood vessels.  It is my birthstone. I also wear a star sapphire ring all the time.  :))

Celestite  - Celestite is popular to use in communicating with angelic and spirit guides.  This stone can instantly lift you above mundane life.  If you meditate with celestite it will open a clear channel of communication.  This stone can be used to assist in remembering your dreams and helps with lucid dreaming.  When you keep a stone under your pillow, you can call upon the stone in the morning to help you remember your dreams to write in your dream journal.  It can be used in Astral Travel to improve the accuracy of where you wish to travel.  Celestite eases stress in the physical body and helps to prevent diseases brought on by worrying.  It can help to improve eyesight and hearing.  It can also help with the digestive process.  Celestite helps to relieve headaches and tension in the bodies by removing stress from physical form.

Malachite - Malachite has a long history with Egyptian culture.  Malachite is wonderful to help us remember and renew our connection with the All.  It allows us to get to know our core self without the fear that can typically hold us back.  It helps to find the child within and be reborn of light.  Malachite is very soothing to the soul and is helpful to release stress and help to create new beginnings.  Malachite helps increase concentration and helps both physical and psychic vision.  Malachite will help find a balanced path between our ego’s desire, and desires of our higher will.  It aids us to remove blockages, and inspires with ideas with help to manifest goals.  Malachite promotes growth and builds strength.  It helps with heart pain and cardiac asthma.  The stone can absorb negative energy from the auric field and cleanse it helping to balance the person wearing it and protect them from negative energies.  This stone can counteract self-destructive romantic tendencies and encourage true, pure love.  It is used for enhancing emotional stability and balance.

Rose Quartz -  Rose Quartz is the gem of unconditional love.  Rose quartz brings gentleness, forgiveness, compassion, kindness and tolerance and helps to balance one’s emotions to bring inner peace and harmony.  Rose quartz raises self-esteem and self-worth.  It helps heal emotional wounds and traumas including grief to bring peace and calm.  Rose quartz removes feelings of resentment and anger.  It can heal and release childhood trauma, neglect, and lack of love by enhancing inner awareness.  It can help with reconciliation of family and others.  Rose quartz benefits the heart in crystal healing.  It aids in proper function of the circulatory system, kidneys, adrenals, genitals, liver, lungs and heart.  It can assist with kidney disease, migraines, sinus problems, throat problems, depression, addictions. Rose quartz can slow signs of aging by reducing wrinkles, spleen probles, fibromyalgia and help with weight loss.  This stone is typically used in rituals and spells associated with love.  It’s also an excellent calming stone for children.

Fluorite (Rainbow)  - Fluorite helps to ground excessive energy especially mental, emotional and nervous energy.  It can help you to straighten out your thoughts and reduce emotional involvement in a situation to get a more accurate perspective.  It’s a powerful healing stone and affects all the chakras.  Fluorite is excellent to use to cleanse the chakra.  It is also known to rid the aura of unwanted energy lines from other people.  Fluorite can aid in channeling and is very helpful for past life work.  When put with other stones, Fluorite can amplify their effects, especially when you are working towards spiritual wholeness and development.  It is also extremely helpful with shielding against unwanted energies.  It can help remove pain when placed directly on the area.  It can be helpful with respiratory issues, skin diseases and arthritis.  Fluorite can be used to help with ulcers.

Black Tourmaline - Black Tourmaline crystal is a powerful stone for protection against negative energy of all kinds.  It is also a very strong grounding stone.  It is believed among many that this is the best protection stone that you can use.  It is very powerful for healing and protection and will strengthen the immune system.

Black Tourmaline Spell of Protection

Cast a circle and create a sacred space.
Best performed on the night of the waning moon.
Charge a black tourmaline gemstone with this chant

“By the Moon, by the sea,
this stone be charged in protection be,
no harm may come to those beside me,

for whom may try may they be bound,
unable to hurt anyone nor make a sound

hear my plea this night
a ring of protection where this stone is in sight

these words which I abide,
an it harm none do as ye will

so mote it be”

The Fox

Merry Meet :)

The weather has been beautiful lately and I found myself lucky enough to have one of those days just perfect for sitting and working outside.  I set up on my deck overlooking the field in my backyard.  I was working on one of my newsletters looked up to noticed a fox walking across my field.  I've seen him before go dashing across the field at dawn but never in the middle of the afternoon.  He was taking his time sauntering across the field, pausing every few minutes to look straight at me.  It was one of those moments that you just go wow, am I really seeing what I am seeing? I wanted to get closer so I slowly started making my way across the yard.

He looked at me and his ears perked in interest as he was watching what I was doing.  I was creeping towards him slowly wanting to get a better look.  I honestly think he'd all but have let me walk right up to him if my little one wasn't going "Mommy look at the fox!" hot on my heels all the way behind me lol.

At one point I stopped reallizing my son wasn't going to quiet down and so I stood there trying to quiet my son and get him to stand still so I could watch the fox.  The fox looked at me, cocked his head to the side a bit then sat down and fluffed his tail round the front of him and just watched me.  I was floored to say the least.  I couldn't have been more then 20 feet from him.  It was amazing to see him so close. What a beautiful creature.  It was just one of those moments........

Thoughts on Fox Meanings, Fox Totems and Animal Symbolism Related to the Fox

In China, fox animal symbolism revolved around the afterlife. Lore has it that a fox sighting was thought to be a signal from the spirits of the deceased.
Fox animal symbolism takes a turn of intelligence in the Celtic realm, as the Celts believed the fox to be a guide, and was honored for its wisdom. The Celts understood the fox knows the woods intimately, and they would rely upon the fox as their guide in the spirit world.
In Japan, the fox was considered one of the rain spirits, and a messenger of Inari the rice god. Here the fox also symbolizes longevity and protection from evil.
In Native American lore, fox animal symbolism deals with two interpretations. One perspective (Northern tribes) observes the fox as a wise and noble messenger. The other (Plains tribes) views the fox as a trickster playing pranks, or worse - luring one to demise.
Overwhelmingly, cultural consensus on fox animal symbolism deals with:
  • cunning
  • strategy
  • quick-thinking
  • adaptability
  • cleverness
  • wisdom
It is noteworthy to observe the fox while it is on the hunt. We see its entire body is pointed like an arrow - straight and tightly aimed. This is a symbolic message for us to set a determined, and powerfully focused mindset in order to "hit the target" of our desires.
The red in the fox is representative of a solar emblem. As a solar emblem the fox animal symbolism deals with:
  • passion
  • desire
  • intensity
  • expression
The fox encourages us to think outside of the box and use our intelligence in different, creative ways. The fox also brings us a message to try to approach our circumstances differently that we normally would. Be aware of some of our habits, and try a different angle of action.
The fox also a reminder that we must utilize all of our resources (seen and unseen) in order to accomplish our goals. Sometimes this means calling upon some unorthodox methods.
Furthermore, the fox is a sign to be mindful of our surroundings.
Phenomenally effective shapeshifters and incredibly adaptable, the fox beckons us to not make too many waves but rather, adapt to our surroundings, blend into it, and use our surroundings (and circumstances) to our advantage.
Other generalized fox symbolic meanings deal with
  • focus
  • determination
  • right-action
It should be obvious from this summary that fox animal symbolism goes far beyond what we may see on the surface. On the contrary, the fox has an incredible amount of knowledge and wisdom to share with us if/when we are willing to be still for the teachings.
Spend some meditative time with the spirit of the fox - odds are you will be amazed at the powerful insight this regal creature has to offer you.

My friend Tansy from Sacred Mists did a wonderful blog post about the meaning of a fox. :)) You can check it out here:  http://kitchenwitchuk.blogspot.com/2011/05/fox.html

Validation for Me

In the past couple of weeks I have felt like things were going to start to change for me.  It's hard to explain, but I have seen the signs, and my card pulls are reflecting what I am getting for information. I am getting nudged out of the nest so to speak.  Pretty much everything I have done with Wicca has been online for the most part.

I took a trip to a quaint little New Age shop recently where a pendulum called my attention.  It's absolutely gorgeous. It's definitely one to help me work with obtaining messages from the other side.  It's the one in the picture.  It's hard to get a picture to show it right, but it is beautiful. The light catches it in sooo many different ways. It has a little crystal ball on the top, and a small quartz coming off of the bottom.  As soon as I picked it up I knew immediately it was for me and what I was to use it for.

So since receiving that I had two classes fall into my lap. I was invited to intend a one day tarot class at that shop with Sheila Hite in June. I'm soooo excited about it! I also had a class come up in a town right next to where I live that is for developing Psychic Awareness. I've been saying I wanted to attend classes out but have never seen any in my area and here they are!

So I went to my first class for Psychic Awareness last night. I absolutely loved it! The girls in the class had taken other classes together before so I was the newbie.  I was pretty comfortable with the material being presented though.  Come to find out they will be meeting weekly! :))))))) I was so nervous driving up there as I'm one who tends to doubt my gifts. *blushes* So I was worried that I was going to get there and just be out of my league.

About half way through the class she started teaching meditations.  Something I'm comfortable enough with due to my time at the Mists.  We started with a basic simple meditation.  I laid on the floor and got comfy.  The point of it was to control breathing and focus on an object.  Easy enough right?  OMG! I couldn't concentrate for the life of me! I kept feeling like there was an older lady standing over me looking down at me with arms crossed with this kind of "what are you doing laying on my floor" attitude.  Not threatening at all just like she wanted to know why I was there?   So I was frustrated and the girl leading the class noticed it.  Now the entire class had been talking about a male spirit who tends to lurk as the center is an old house, but they said nothing about a woman.  So I'm thinking ok my mind is being wayyyy overactive.  But I couldn't get it to settle down.  She was getting ready to start the next meditation and I kindof whispered to the class leader asking her if she was aware of a female presence as well.  She answered me loudly *blushes* with a why yes there is a female presence here as well.  She then asked me to describe what I saw and a couple other girls in the class got excited when i described her.  Come to find out she's well known there as well, she just doesn't appear nearly as often.  :))))))))))))))))))

I'm so proud!

I know, it sounds like something so simple, but it was the validation that I needed for my skills, which was a huge reason I wanted to take some classes in person to begin with. :)))) I am looking forward to going back.  I will be sure to bring my pendulum with me next time.

Love and Blessings

New Herbs, Vegetable Garden on the Way, and of Course a Garden for the Fae ;)

Merry Meet :))))

I am sooo calm as I sit down to write this post.  I just spent the entire day planting herbs and fixing up my herb garden.  I added Lemon Balm, Lemon Verbena, Rosemary, Cilantro, Thyme, and some new Lavender. I already have chives, oregano, chamomile, mint, spearmint and a couple others.   It just smells fantastic! They are all around my deck. I still need to go get sage! It was brought to my attention last night that you could use normal sage as well as white sage to cleanse. So while I'm not fond of sage as a seasoning I am going to get a few for that purpose.

I am very very excited as I have this area at the back of my property that I've been wanting to clean up for a few years.  It's a good chunk of land that was overrun by weeds and brush and was really just an absolute mess.  Right in front of this area a little stream runs across my property. Behind the area is a huge field that I'm able to see when it's clear. Makes for a beautiful view. So for the past month I have been busting tail to clean it out and it's almost done! :)))) I didn't think I'd be able to get it all this year.  My goal was to get most of it done this year and finish it up next year so that I could plant a vegetable garden up there next year.  I'm so excited! It's all set! I will be planting a vegetable garden up there in the next couple of weeks.

In addition to the vegetable garden, I moved the fairy garden up there with my daughter.  There's a little grove of trees to the side of where the vegetable garden will be and it just felt right to us to move it there.  Ever stepped onto a piece of land and had it just feel mystical to you?   As soon as we started clearing the area up there she just gravitated to that spot and begged to put a fae garden there.  I helped her to plant some lavender up there and a couple other flowers. I will post some pictures in the coming weeks as it's a work in progress.  I love that she is so into having her own garden. It was quite fulfilling to watch her place little rock borders around the lavender bushes I planted with her. She spent so much time picking out rocks that look like quartz and looking for sparkling rocks and cleaning them up.  She also leaves out plates up there with water and occasional treats, and another bowl with trinkets that she finds such as small seashells, anything that sparkles, and other things she thinks they may like.   We will be taking a trip to the craft store soon to work on building a little house for them soon as well.

It's amazing how calming and meditative spending a day in the garden can be.  I sat on my deck tonight just looking out in amazement at what a difference the last month has made in my backyard, and myself. ;)

Out into the World

Merry Meet :)))

So I'm officially working on making my way out into the world.  Until now I've kept the majority of what I do online. However, I've been feeling lately like I need to start being in person with people to work on my path, and two days after the New Moon ritual I have two classes that have fallen upon my lap.  I will be going to the first class tonight, Connecting With Your Psychic Self.  It's at a wellness center fairly close to where I live.  I'm very excited to be going. It's two hours for the next few weeks.

This past Sunday I took a "day off". :) I went for a drive to the Crystal Wellness Center in Great Barrington MA.   The area it was in itself was enough to make me walk around with my mouth open a bit and excitement in my eyes.  It was a little area just full of quaint little shops that anyone interested in New Age material would love.  I found myself wandering around the shop for well over an hour.  They have a wonderful array of crystals and gemstones and gemstone jewelry to peruse.  I was also content wandering among the many handpicked books for your reading within the store.  The store itself just has a wonderful energy about it and I enjoyed my time there. What caught my attention while I was out there though was the fact that they have workshops and seminars there as well.  I actually had one come up this week that I signed up for. :))) It's going to be held on June 4.  Learn to read the Tarot in One Day with Sheila Hite.  You can check out her website here:  http://www.sheilaahite.com/.  I've been working with the tarot cards for quite some time now so I'm really excited about this course.

It's hard to explain, it seems like things always have a way of just falling into place for me.  If I can relax and trusts my instincts and follow the path being laid out for me I know all will be ok.  I do feel like I am getting a huge nudge to eventually start working with people offline.  I thought it rather ironic that I felt like I needed to take classes in person and two fell onto my lap in a couple of days.  I've not seen much for classes around where I am and it's like I've just put a key into this special door that allows me to find where everyone is in my area.  I am peering inside cautiously but loving what I am finding ;)

I hope this message finds everyone well.
Love and Blessings to you all,
Jasmeine Moonsong
