Wax Flower Luminaries

Wax Flower Luminaries

Several of you might already know how to do this. This is something I use to do with my Gram this time of year when she was with me. We use to go out and see how many different types of flowers we could find and then make arrangements with them on wax paper. We used them for everything from bookmarks, to placemats, to luminaries, to suncatchers. :))))) Once you have them in the wax paper you can cut them out to make sooo many things.

1. Pick Flowers! lol :)))) ok ok I know :))

2. lay a piece of wax paper out on the table
3 arrange the flowers how you want them, leave a 1-inch border around the edges.
4. Set your iron to warm setting, don't use steam
5. Place a sheet of wax paper on top of the flowers.
6. Place a cloth on top of the wax paper, something that's not too thick, like a dish towel works great. Use an old one just in case, so ya don't yell at me if you get wax on it :P
7. Seal the flowers in the wax paper by slowly running your iron on top of the paper towel. Iron each section for five seconds, beginning around the edges and working your way to the inner portions of the paper. Iron lightly on top of the flowers for 2-3 seconds to prevent burning.
8. Flip the paper over. Place a paper towel over the wax paper and iron lightly over the flowers to melt the wax and make the flowers stick.
9. Remove the towel and check to see if there is a good seal. Repeat the ironing process to create a better seal if needed.

10. Trim off any excess wax paper to make the edges even.
11. If you want to make it into a luminary just make it into a square! :))
