Herbal Scented Ink for Your Book of Shadows

Herbal Scented Ink for Your Book of Shadows

What You Need
- Herb of your choice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 bottle of ink
- small pan with lid

This is a great idea to make a scented ink for your Book of Shadows. You can choose any herb that you like. Some great ideas are lavender, lemon verbena, mint or rosemary. Or combine a few of them for your own signature scent! :)))) You can get the bottles of ink at your craft store.

Gather about an ounce of herbs of your choice.

If they are dried you will get the best results, so leave them out for a few days on a lined tray.

Once they are dried combine them with about a half cup of water in a small saucepan.

Bring the mixture to a boil and turn the heat back to low allowing it to simmer for about 30 minutes. You will want to cover the pot to keep the scent in. Do check on it every so often to stir it and make sure it's not sticking to the bottom of the pan. I'm fantastic at burning water. :)))

By the end of the 30 minutes the mixture should be down to only a few teaspoons, and should be very concentrated.

Pour the mix into a strainer to remove any leftover bits of herbs.

Mix it with your ink.
