Merry Meet :))) My parents had land up on the Mohawk Trail where they use to take me camping a lot growing up. My Dad always use to take me on "adventures" in the woods. On one of these adventures I remember looking for an old mine. He was telling me how to find it based on the colors of the soil on the water in the stream. One of the stones I remember finding on that day, and being completely fascinated at that age with was Pyrite, or Fool's Gold. When looking at it, it does resemble gold in appearance.
Pyrite is an iron sulfide. It is one of the most common of the sulfide minerals. Pyrite is usually found with other sulfides or oxides. It can be found in quartz veins, sedimentary rock, metamorphic rock, and coal beds, just to name a few places. It can even be found next to gold. This mineral can be found in places all over the world. It is not exclusive to one particular area. One of the things that I love about pyrite is the various shades of colors you can find it in. You can find some that have shades of blue or purple and they are just beautiful to see.
Pyrite contains both earth and fire elemental energies. It is very helpful in balancing the root chakra. Pyrite assists with communication skills, making it easier to speak what's on your mind clearly and concisely. It also helps to boost your self-confidence. It's a wonderful stone to use in both meditation and divination.
Medicinally it can help to ease menstrual pain. It helps with reducing fevers.
Love and Blessings,
