Fairy Dust Bottles
Merry Meet :))) How many of you have little ones? :)))) How many of you love the fae? One craft that my daughter loves is the fairy dust bottles. Have you ever seen them? Around here they are popular at the fairs and craft shows during the summer. They are actually super easy to make and would be a really fun project for the wee witches, or even just for you to make. :))) I love making crafts. :)))
The first thing we need is the little bottles. I found the following set on Amazon:
I love that the set has a variety of bottles. This set is perfect if you are planning to use your fairy dust as a decorative item. If you're interested in grabbing it you can find it here: Advantus Corked Vials. http://amzn.to/13a9WtT They actually have lots of different varieties on amazon. I searched "tiny corked bottles."
If you are wanting to make ones that you can use for necklaces, I found this pack on amazon by searching "tiny bottles for necklaces": Miniature glass bottles with stoppers and loops http://amzn.to/X1132z
Next we need to gather the materials for the fairy dust. You want to find extra fine, iridescent glitter. You can choose what colors you wish. :))) You may want to choose just one color or choose several. This is a 12 pack that I found on Amazon as well: Iridescent Glitter 12-pack. http://amzn.to/166T7An
You can get creative with this and add other things as well if you wish. You may wish to use dried flowers like violets, roses or pansies. You can ground them up into a fine mix and add them to the glitter. You can also use the tiny beads, stones or shells. I know during the summer we find some really small seashells at the beach that would be perfect. As always get creative! :))) You may also want to add a drop of essential oil to the top of the mix, some great ideas are a lavender essential oil, or vanilla essential oil.
Add the stopper to the bottle. At this point you can add a ribbon to the bottle if you want or a little silver charm. For those of you that are making it into necklaces consider stringing it with a ribbon. You may also want to glue the cork to the bottle.
I hope you enjoy!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
Here are some other cute ones I found for inspiration :))) (if you click on the picture it will take you to where I found it.)
