How to Stain Glass
Merry Meet :)))) Today I have a project for you that you can use as a start for many ideas, how to stain glass. When I first learned to do this, my mind immediately jumped to Mason Jars. lol For those of you who've been with me for awhile, you know how much I love mason jars. :))) However you can also do vases, plates, mosaics, the possibilities are endless. :)))
So find the bottles that you are wanting to use. You want to choose clear bottles. I have seen people use everything from mason jars, to wine bottles to baby food jars.
Make sure the bottles are squeaky clean and free of debris. Goo gone works great on some of that stubborn glue. ;)
You then need to get vitrail glass paint. You can find this at most places that carry craft supplies. If you are having any issues finding them I will link some at the bottom of the article here for you from Amazon.
Use a little bit of nail polish remover to thin the paint. (just a tiny bit)
Swirl the paint mixture onto the inside of the bottle, until it is completely covered. It will become more clear as it dries.
Allow it to dry for a couple days to ensure that it's dry enough to put water in. :)))
You can also use the mixture to paint the glass if you want to as well. :))) If you want a stained glass effect you could draw the outline in puffy paints. :))
Have fun! I would love to see pics!
Much Love and Many Blessings,
