Hematite is said to protect the wearer's vital energy and guarantee survival. Hematite amulets have been found in nearly every pharaoh's tomb as a support in the afterlife.
In ancient Egypt hematite was used to stop bleeding and promote formation of blood cells. In the Middle Ages it was known as a "blood stone" because the water often became red when polishing the stones. Native Americans used Hematite to make red face paint. Because of it's metaphysical properties it was often given to warriors before they went to battle.
Hematite can also be used to stabilize blood circulation. It's beneficial for eye problems and can promote healthy sleep when placed under a pillow with roze quartzs.
It is very effective on the root chakra and is a wonderful stone to use for grounding and protection. It will strengthen our connection with the Earth helping us to feel grounded when we have it on us. It gives us courage, strength, endurance and vitality. It can stimulate concentration and focus.
Never wear hematite near any sort of inflammation as it can make them worse. Don't cleanse it in water. To cleanse it place it with tumbled rock crystals to absorb any negative energy and recharge it with positive energy.
You will often see Hematite rings sold. I have one that I absolutely adore. One thing to note is that they can be very fragile so you must use caution not to hit it against anything as it will shatter.
Much Love and Many Blessings,
