The Magick in Fairy Tales :))))
Do you believe? Many fairy tales that are with us today have been handed down over generations. These stories are magickal gifts for us from generations before us. Many are quick to classify these stories as works of fiction, but does anyone really know? The fairies that supposedly don't exist have been sighted by many around the world. Unicorns in the legends don't exist either....or do they? Have you seen the cave paintings of them from paleolithic times? How about Dragons? There is no scientific proof, yet new things are being discovered every day, what's to say they won't find proof of these amazing creatures at some point?
Why is it that society is so quick to shut down things that are magickal and the legends of times gone by? Do I believe in every single fairy tale? No. :) But I do try to go through life with an open mind. These stories represent magick, hope, and unconditional love. When you sit down to read them or watch movies made about them they almost always have valuable life lessons that we can all benefit to take in and learn from. When you believe in the magick of fairy tales you believe in the magick of the world, it makes it easier to believe that anything is possible, for indeed it is. It makes it easier to believe that you can do anything.
I watched the Lion King a few nights ago with my kids, and I had to laugh as I found myself scribbling down quotes that I wanted to remember.
It's the circle of life, and it moves us all through despair and hope, through faith and love. - Rafiki
I'm only brave when I have to. Being brave doesn't mean looking for trouble. - Mufasa
Ah yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it. - Rafiki
This was just a couple of the many quotes within that one Disney movie that I found amazing and uplifting. Tinker Bell is another Disney movie that we love and is packed with amazing quotes. So while some may take the viewpoint in not believing in fairy tales or wanting others to indulge in them, I think the world would be a much better place if we all watched and read a few more fairy tales. If you have kids, take a Disney movie night and see how many quotes you find. :)))) Even if you don't have little ones with you take a night to watch some Disney movies :))))
When you go out in the woods look for evidence of the fae. Listen to the whispers on the wind of those who have gone before you. Watch the animals as they scurry about in their lives and imagine what they are thinking and feeling. Pay attention to everything around you and allow yourself to wonder. Let the world infuse you with not only a sense of wonder, but an amazing love, and the gift of a sight that goes beyond what society dictates into a realm where everything is possible, and fairy tales may just exist.
Love and Blessings,
