Merry Meet :)))))) I think one of the biggest challenges of being an empath is dealing with emotions. While it is a beautiful gift to be able to feel more everywhere we go, sometimes it can just get flat out overwhelming. The tricky part for us empaths is that we are so concerned about everyone else, typically we will put ourselves last, and by the time we realize we need grounding time, it's late. lol :)))
That's part of why regular maintenance for us is so important. Finding time for a physical or artistic hobby that can serve as an outlet for those extra emotions. Grounding and shielding regularly. Making sure that we are eating properly and sleeping enough. All of these things are vital. But what do we do if we hit that overwhelming point?
One of my favorite things to do if I find myself completely overwhelmed is to take a long walk outside. I will go for miles and just allow my mind to wander while I take in the scents of nature all around me and allow the Great Goddess to calm me. If it's not a time that I can go outside, I will put on some Celtic music and try to get into some form of art. I get everything as quiet as I can so I can lose myself in the art. Usually it doesn't take me all that long to recover. An hour or two of quiet to clear my mind and then I'm ready to take on the world again.
This can vary for each one of us so while you can use me as a starting point, you really need to find what works best for you. :))))) Once you find it, write a note for yourself that you can keep in a safe place and when you get overwhelmed you can go to, to remind you of those things that make you feel better. Always make sure you take care of you :))) And realize it's ok if you have days that the emotions just aren't cooperating. :)))) It happens ;) All of us get those days. The important thing is to keep on getting up and trying and working to find those things that help you. :)))))
Your gifts are beautiful and you are meant to share them with the world. :)))
Have a magickal day :))
Much Love and Many Blessings,
