Samhain New Moon On Monday!

original artwork by MizDestiny

Samhain New Moon on Monday

Our final New Moon of this Witch's Year also known as our Samhain New Moon is on Monday. This New Moon is going to be in Libra bringing a lot of focus to the relationships in our lives. Some of you may already be noticing this energy surrounding you. This is a time for new beginnings and new energy and for some of you, you may even find you have new relationships coming your way. You are going to find love a big focus as well. Not just love in relationships but self-love as well. Think about some new energy that you can bring to the relationships that you have in your life including the one with you!

Venus is going to be retrograde during the New Moon in Scorpio. Libra is ruled by Venus so this could definitely throw us a bit of curve ball energy. This energy has the potential to have people from past relationships in your life resurface, events happen that make you confront relationships from the past, or you may find it even makes you question the relationships that you are in. If you've been in a comfy relationship for a long period of time and you happen to get into a crazy argument this weekend or on the day of the New Moon and you feel like you want to run away, give yourself a few days to let this energy come back to normal before you make any important decisions.

Keep your focus on bringing new energy to your relationships and meeting new people. I've been super chatty lately! The New Moon energy tends to hit me early. I've found in walks and while I'm out on my day to day activities I'm more inclined to say hello to people. I've also found that people seem to be doing the same. See if you notice any difference in energy with the people that you encounter in your life!

I have the Samhain New Moon reading below! I have a couple of spots that I should be able to get delivery out before the New Moon. Please note that if you order a reading the day before the New Moon I cannot deliver it on the day of. I have been getting a lot of orders in on the day before or day of an event and it makes it hard to try to get them to you on time. Impossible actually. I've been averaging about a week turnaround to week and a half and I'm trying hard to make sure that orders go out as quick as possible for you. Keep an eye on your emails and the ones for special events you want to order as soon as they open. Of course there is nothing wrong with getting a reading after an event as well! The energy is still fresh and I can tell you what energy it is bringing for you. I know a couple of you do it for that reason as well which I have no problem with at all.

I hope you have an amazing weekend!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

Witch's New Moon Reading

New Moon's are all about new beginnings and setting pace for the upcoming lunar cycle. The New Moon that falls in the month of October is always special as it is our Samhain New Moon. It's our final New Moon before Samhain and our Witch's New Year creating one powerful night for manifestation that you don't want to miss!

It's time to find out what energy is surrounding you right now so you can get ready for Samhain and our Witch's New Year.

He Came Out Of the Mist......

He came out of the mist....

How many of you have encountered spirits in your life? Have you ever seen a full body apparition? I bet most of you may not know that I have a good amount of experience with the Paranormal world as well. I've been working with spirits since I was little.

I saw my first full body complete apparition several years ago now when I was going through a particularly challenging time in my life. I was outside wishing on the stars and all of a sudden there was a ton of fog coming from the house next door. I assumed it was the dryer vent from next door as it was chilly out and went back to wishing. Then it increased.... and started coming across my yard. I felt rooted in place and this incredibly peaceful feeling came over me which is the best way I could describe it as I watched that fog turn into a pretty clear full body spirit. It was my Grandfather. I recognized the uniform from the military picture. I believe he chose it as he knew I would recognize it. While I couldn't make out his face clearly, the center of his body was the most clear, I knew without a doubt it was him. After what feels like forever but I'm sure was a matter of moments it began to fade. That was the first time I have seen a full spirit since I was incredibly little.

I have been seeing spirits my entire life but typically I catch them out of the corner of my eye, I will catch a flash of them, I even have caught some photos although I find photos are tricky as typically their energy either kills what I am using as a camera or the photo is all distorted.

Do you have any spooky stories for me or stories that I can share?

Have a magickal day!

The Flying Witch

The Flying Witch

Many of you are probably very familiar with the witch's broom. Some of you may also be aware that these brooms were used in a myriad of ways to include cleansing negative energies from the home. How about the many pictures we see of witch's flying on brooms though? Do you know where this comes from?

Dating as far back as the early 14th and 15th centuries, witches would use what were referred to as "flying ointments." One theory is that these ointments were used to assist with what we refer to today as Astral Travel. Astral travel is basically when we work to separate our astral body from our physical body and travel to the astral plane. Think of it sort of like dreaming but while awake. Today we can use herbs and crystals to assist us with this process, but do to some herbs having been proved to be dangerous, we cannot achieve this state of being through herbs alone. Today our goal with astral travel is to maintain in control of our experiences. Some may still use the stronger herbs to assist with their astral journeys today. But astral travel is for another article.

As I mentioned before some of the herbs used to produce these effects in those days were highly toxic. The witches had to take great care when making these salves, to make sure the amount used was enough to produce visions, and not enough to be lethal. These salves produced not only the visions of astral travel, but they often made them feel as if they were flying. Hence why a witch could "fly" to a ritual on a Sabbat. It is more likely they were using the ointments during the ritual by anointing their body with them. This then increased their visions on that evening, and thus could give them the sense of flying. They were not actually flying around on broomsticks. There are other theories as to their use of the salve on the broomstick, but I will leave those for you to find.

Have a magickal day!

Nine Sacred Woods

Nine Sacred Woods

How many of you are familiar with the Nine Sacred Woods? There is a line in the Wiccan Rede that refers to them: "Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow."

You will see them called for in some rituals, I've mainly been taught to use them in ritual fires when possible to increase the energy.

So where do the nine types of wood come from? They are actually from the first nine types of wood on the Celtic tree calendar. An ancient pagan calendar that has 13 lunar cycles to it.

So let's take a closer look at these Sacred trees. Here they are as stated in the Wiccan Rede:

"Nine woods in the Cauldron go,
Burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes
To represent what the Lady knows.
Oak in the forest towers with might,
In the fire it brings the God's insight.
Rowan is a tree of power,
Causing life and magic to flower.
Willows at the waterside stand
Ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify
And to draw faerie to your eye.
Hazel - the tree of wisdom and learning
Adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree
That brings us fruits of fertility.
Grapes grow upon the vine
Giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen
To represent immortality seen.
Elder is the Lady's tree
Burn it not or cursed you'll be."

For those of you who read that closely, you might notice there are 10. The last tree mentioned in the Rede, The Elder Tree, is considered sacred to the Goddess. In some traditions it is said to not burn wood from an Elder tree, however, this tree is usually still considered Sacred.

First I want to mention that there is as with most old traditions, variation and debate on the interpretation of the Nine Sacred Trees. The way I am writing of, is the way I was taught. I've read research supporting many different theories, and this has been the one I am most comfortable with. If you have learned a different order that you are more comfortable with, as always I encourage you to follow your personal traditions.

Now if we are going to have a proper ritual fire, it's quite helpful if you can identify these trees and know what they represent right? Let's take a closer look.

Birch - The birch tree is probably the easiest tree to recognize given that it's trunk is covered in a very distinctive white bark.  I use to love drawing pictures on scraps of it that had fallen when I was little. The Birch Tree is known as the Goddess tree. It is said the wood from this tree will help you to call upon the Goddess and have her aid you in your magickal workings. It is also said to be protective and to help one build courage.

Oak - I absolutely adore old Oak trees. There is something about their energy that just calls to me and is amazingly calming. The picture above is of one of the oldest and most famous ones, the angel oak tree, in South Carolina. One of the easiest ways to identify this tree is by looking for acorns. Did you know that Oak trees are the only trees to have acorns? So study the wildlife and since many animals and birds love acorns, they may help you to locate one of these beautiful trees.  The Oak represents the God and will help you to draw his wisdom and blessings. This wood also helps to boost our energy and manifest our goals.

Rowan - The magickal Rowan tree. This tree is considered one of the most sacred trees of witches and druids. It has a long history of being known as a magickal tree. The Rowan tree is usually rather slender, having a silvery bark. It has white flowers in the spring, and red berries in the fall. The leaves are usually grouped together in pairs with one on the end for a total of 15. See the pic.   This tree will contribute to your magickal workings.

Willow - I absolutely adore the Willow. It's one of my favorite trees to lay under and watch the branches blow in the wind. This tree is pretty easy to identify as well with it's long soft branches that hang down and sway in the wind. Willows are known as the Tree of Enchantment. They represent love, emotions, healing and inspiration.

Hawthorn - It is associated with Beltane, and was originally known as the May tree because it bloomed in May. Hawthorn, also known as thornapple or Crataegus is part of the rose family. They average in height from 16 - 49 feet in height. The most common variety has a gray bark and thorny branches. Some species have a bright red fruit that resembles crabapples. This tree will cleanse the heart of any negativity, it's a purification tree. It is also known to be the tree of the Fae.

Hazel - How many of you love Hazel nuts?   I use to, unfortunately for some reason I became extremely allergic to them about 15 years ago out of nowhere. I remember they tasted amazing though. The Celts believe that 9 of these trees hang over the well of wisdom on the other side. This is a tree of wisdom and as such will help you to gain wisdom in your work. The nuts are an amazing way to recognize this tree.

Apple - I bet ever one of us can identify the apple tree. I absolutely love picking apples in the fall One of my favorite things to do. So most trees, albeit we have some green and yellow apples too, but the fruits are red. The color of love. This tree represents love and fertility in our magickal workings. It will also help to improve your health and aid you to trust in your magickal work.

Grape - So this is the wood that people tend to disagree on. I was taught that the vines of grapes is the eight wood. If you think about it, some vines can get big enough to look like trees. Grapes, like apples, have been around since ancient times and have a long history of being associated with magickal properties such as fertility, health, and prosperity. Wine has also been used as an offering to the Deities since ancient times.

Fir - The fir tree is a variety of Evergreen tree. The way these trees remain green, even through harsh winters, is a sign of immortality. It represents our lives continuing on no matter what the circumstances are. This tree you may see listed as a Pine tree. Both are evergreens. It depends on the tradition you follow.

And that concludes our tour of the Nine Sacred Types of Wood.  In case you did not before, you now know how to build a magickal fire for rituals.

The Countdown to Samhain

How excited are you that it’s October and Samhain is coming! I know I am. For the past couple of years now we have been doing the Samhain Countdown on Moonsong Daily Magick. This is being released exclusively to Moonsong Daily Magick members. If you aren’t a member yet, now is the perfect time to join us! You can join us here: Moonsong Daily Magick

So how does this work? I’m going to continue articles as usual throughout the month of October. I realize not everyone wants to do Samhain every day and we have some amazing sisters with us who are from Australia as well. So the special countdown to Samhain is going to be featured right below the main article section of Moonsong Daily Magick. Pretty cool right?

Included in the countdown will be articles with stories, information for you, craft ideas, recipes, special spells, and anything else I come across in my travels this month that I want to share with you regarding Samhain to make this month a little more special for you.

Do you have any Samhain favorite ideas or recipes that you want me to share? I would love you to send them to me at WiccanMoonsong@gmail.com. I would love for this to be a community sharing space where I can pass along not only my ideas but some of your traditions as well. So dig out those recipe boxes and take pictures of your crafts that you are making and I will share them with the group! Let’s have fun with this.

Let the Countdown Begin…..

Moon Lake Spirit Guide Meditation

**original graphic by: Mxlove**

Moon Lake Spirit Guide Mediation

Merry Meet

Today I had a meditation that I wanted to share with you. It's one that I use to help my son sleep at night. It's also one that I use quite often myself based upon one of my safe places. The nice thing about this meditation is that you can use it to get messages from your spirit guide, you can also use it to simply ground and relax or to help you to sleep at night. Feel free to customize it any way you wish to suit your needs.

Find a place where it's nice and quiet and you can relax. Make sure it is free from distractions. You may wish to record this meditation so that you can listen to it instead of having to read it.

It is a beautiful quiet evening and the forest around you is just starting to come to life with it's night time animals. You can feel the earth crunching beneath your feet as you walk along the path in the forest. Above you the full moon glows a beautiful white lighting the path before you so it is easy to see where you are walking. As you walk along you notice some beautiful white pebbles on the path. You pause a few times to select some of the beautiful white stones on the path and place them in your pocket for safekeeping. As you pick them up you notice how cool and smooth they feel to the touch.

In the distance you can hear a rustle in the leaves, as if a squirrel is grabbing a last minute snack for the evening. You can also hear a hoot of an owl far up in one of the tall pine trees surrounding you. Then you notice that you can hear the faint sound of water. You continue walking, looking in the trees for the owl, when a clearing up ahead on the path catches your eye. It goes off to your right and you move toward it curious where it leads. As you approach the clearing the sound of water gets even louder and you are quite sure now there must be some sort of waterfall up ahead. You make your way down the short path, following it with the beautiful light of the moon and catch your breath as you come off the path. In front of you is the most wondrous waterfall, pouring into a lake. The moon shimmers and dances across the lake forming a pattern in the waves created by the waterfall. Along the side of the lake is a beach with soft white sand illuminated in the moonlight. It truly looks like something out of a fairy tale. You take off your shoes and wiggle your toes in the sand marvelling at how soft and cool it feels under your toes.

You decide to sit there awhile and just enjoy relaxing by the magnificent view the Goddess has blessed you with. You pull a bottle of water out of your backpack and take a long drink quenching your thirst. After awhile the sound of the water over the rocks and the other night sounds begins to make your eyes sleepy as you relax completely. You decide to lay in the sand and allow your body to rest. As you lay down you note how your body sinks into the sand. One by one you allow the parts of your body to sink into the sand and become one with Mother Earth.

You wiggle your toes and relax them completely allowing them to become one with the sand.

You allow your heals to sink into the sand, relaxed and one with Mother Earth.

You allow your legs to sink into the sand, relaxed and one with Mother Earth.

You allow your tail bone to relax into the sand and become one with Mother Earth.

You allow your back to relax into the sand and become one with Mother Earth.

You allow your shoulders to relax into the sand and become one with Mother Earth.

You allow your neck to relax into the sand and become one with Mother Earth.

You allow your head to relax into the sand and become one with Mother Earth.

You allow your arms to relax into the sand and become one with Mother Earth.

You allow your fingers to relax into the sand and become one with Mother Earth.

You feel your body totally at peace and connected to the Earth in a state of deep relaxation.

You then move your concentration to your breathing and lay there for awhile listening to your breath and feeling your stomach move gently up and down.

As you relax you can hear the sound of soft footsteps next to you.

You know not to be afraid and don't even consider moving from your calm, deeply relaxed state.

You lay there and listen knowing that this person standing next to you is one of your spirit guides.

You ask them to tell you their name so that you know whom you are working with.

You then listen as they give you the message they wish you to receive.

Calmly, slowly, and quietly, you listen for any additional information from your guide, as you allow your body to remain completely relaxed and one with the Earth.

You may stay here for as long as you are comfortable.

This is your safe place. You may come here whenever you wish to relax, fall asleep easily, or just wish to communicate with your guide.

When you are ready start to slowly wake up your body starting at your head and working down to your toes.

Take time to stretch and thank the Goddess and your guides for the gifts that they have blessed you with.

Have a magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

The Psychic Who Predicted My Future

original artwork by Pygar

The Psychic Who Predicted My Future

I'm honestly not sure how long ago this was but I know it was quite some time as I had just begun a formal Wiccan Path.  I know it was well over 10 years ago now.  My sister had called me and had a friend that she worked with who also worked as a tarot reader. She really wanted to go and asked if I'd go with her. I immediately said yes excited to go for my first time to see a psychic. I had always watched them on t.v. and had read every book I could get my hands on devouring the information, but the chance to see one in person was a huge opportunity for me.

We went into the room and I met someone who I would come to become very close with throughout my career. Little did I know she would be a future peer of mine. On that day she told me many things. She predicted the divorce that I went through. She told me that I would be with a very tall man who had long blond hair. Earl meets the description. Here's where she lost me though and I look back today and laugh.
She told me that I would be reading tarot for a living professionally and I would be very successful with it as I would have a bit of a different approach to the cards. At the time I thought she was completely off as I couldn't see myself possibly ever memorizing an entire deck of cards...I looked at the class on tarot and immediately dismissed it as something I would never work with...even though I had this nagging call...

Within the year I was training one on one to read the cards with a very successful professional and author in the field. Here I am more than 10 years later now and I absolutely love the tarot. It's such a valuable tool and the cards, while getting worn from years of use, feel very much at home in my hands. I can't imagine how the past several years would have gone without that little deck of cards that is my primary deck. It has helped me to support my family which is just incredible to me. It's honestly the reason we still are in a home and not an apartment. I wouldn't be able to hold this place up for my little ones on just Daily Magick.

From the time I was little I knew I was different. I was always drawn to the intuitive world although I couldn't put my finger on where I belonged. I love working with the tarot and my guides, it's an amazing gift that I am grateful to have and be able to work with all the time. It's funny, when I look back to my childhood the writing was on the wall the entire time on what I should be doing with my life.

I just think it's so funny that I thought she was completely out in the field when she read me, yet here I sit today and all of her predictions about me have come true. Incredible right?

Have a magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

Full Harvest Moon Blessings!

Meet and Good Morning!  Full Harvest Moon Blessings! Today is Monday, September 24, 2018.  Mondays are ruled by the magic and mystery of the Moon and are days of peace, sleep, healing, compassion, friends, psychic awareness, purification, and fertility.  The moon and humanity are intrinsically linked.  The moon affects so many cycles in our lives like the ocean’s tides, feminine cycles, and seasonal cycles.  Focus on accepting change gracefully, release your anxieties and past hurts and let go of your past.  Today is a good day for spells involving emotions, the subconscious, domestic issues, feminine issues, psychic pursuits and dream work. If you are working with stones today choose pearls or moonstones for protection.  Use emeralds for amulets, and silver when making talismans.

Tonight's Moon is the Full Harvest Moon. The Full Moon is the time of greatest power and the perfect night for magick and ritual as it’s a night where energy is in abundance. The Full Moon represents the Goddess in her Mother aspect.  She is fertile and abundant gaining knowledge. The next important day for your magickal work is the New Moon on October 8, 2018.
We begin our day with the Moon in Pisces. With the Moon in Pisces, the focus is on dreaming, nostalgia, intuition, and psychic impressions.  It’s a good time for spiritual or philanthropic activities. At 1:27 this morning the Moon begins her journey to Aries arriving at 7:04 this evening.  While the Moon is making her journey she will be void of course or between signs. During this time we want to minimize doing anything important.  It's a great time to rest, relax and take care of you. The Moon in Aries is good for starting things but lacks staying power.  Thing occur rapidly, but quickly pass.  People tend to be argumentative and assertive. Our Full Harvest Moon this evening is in Aries. The magickal color of the day is Silver and the incense of the day is Lily.
Have an amazingly magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

Counting Your Blessings for the Full Moon

original artwork by Ellysiumn

Our Full Blessings Moon and Autumn Equinox are just a couple of days away can you believe it? The Harvest Moon on Monday is about counting our blessings and preparing for Winter as we enjoy the last of our Summer months and the harvests that are available to us now. Mabon is this weekend on Saturday, a couple of days before the Equinox. Mabon is our Witch's Thanksgiving. It's the perfect time to give thanks for our blessings and harvest some of those blessings for the wintertime or whenever we need a pick me up.

Many of us have gardens and will need to finish harvesting the vegetables soon. I know here we are starting to bring herbs in to dry and prepare for winter use. Our basil is starting to go to seed so it is coming in this week. We also are watching our sunflowers to make seeds that we can use next year.

The reason that I wanted to talk to you about this early this year is because I have a project for you! It's a bit of a simple one but one that will bring you joy during the winter months. We are going to create a Harvest Moon/ Equinox box.

Grab any box you wish, it can be a shipping box, a shoebox whatever size you find appropriate. In that box I want you to start collecting things over the next week as we move towards the Full Moon and Mabon. In that box I want you to start collecting things for you to have during the winter or on a day that you really could use a pick me up. So for instance in my box I would have some herbs for teas, honey, seeds to plant seedlings, maybe a special book and anything else I can think of in the next week or so that I think would really lift my spirits in February.

Do the same over the several days as we move towards the Full Moon. Set aside as many things as you want. This is your special care box. On the night of the Full Harvest Moon leave this box somewhere that it is safe and can get Moonlight like a windowsill inside that your kitties don't have access to. Seal the box up the next morning and tuck it somewhere safe where you will remember it when you need it.

Have a magickal day!

Much Love and Many Blessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

The Mammoth Sunflower

The Mammoth Sunflower

Many of you know that I adore Sunflowers.  I have for as long as I can remember.  For those of you who were with me last year you may remember me wishing I had planted sunflowers and the mysterious one that appeared at the end of the summer for me.  It was amazing. I don't think I made the article public as sometimes I keep articles just for Daily Magick members.  It was at the edge of my garden and when I found it I promised myself that we would plant sunflowers this year.   We did! I wanted to show you the results today.

This is my driveway. We planted them around the light post and at a rock at the end of the driveway.  I'll get you a closer look in a second.  The one thing that we are going to do next year is start them inside.  Squirrels ate about 90% of our seeds this year so we only have a few of them.

You may notice that the color is a bit different on these flowers.  These  are the sunflowers around the mailbox. They are evening sun sunflowers and they come in varying shades of yellows and reds.  They are incredibly pretty.  Right now all three blooms are similar but last week I had one that was red.

You probably noticed that the title of the article is the Mammoth Sunflower.  Ready?  We have been so excited about this flower.

There it is! It's the flower that I used at the top.  Earl even agreed to get in the picture to give you a sense of scale.  He is 6'3.  It's a huge flower! We were excited to plant these this year and he planted around 20 around the rock, this one survived.  It's been open for about 2 weeks now.

A few years ago I wrote an article about the Magick of Sunflowers and in it I mentioned that they can get up to 12 feet but that I couldn't imagine them getting that tall. This one isn't 12 feet but it's huge! If your'e interested in the energy that they bring us you want to check out this article: The Magick of Sunflowers.

This is a closeup of the smaller one next to the rock.

If you want to try to grow some sunflowers like we are working with next year, these are the seed packets that we used.  The evening sun ones are really really beautiful and the Mammoth ones are just fun.  Hopefully next year I'll be writing to you with a yard full of them to show you.

Have a magickal day!

Much Love and ManyBlessings,

Jasmeine Moonsong

The Magickal Hummingbird

The Magickal Hummingbird

How many of you have hummingbird's that visit your yard this summer? We have two in our yard that I notice each year, at least I think there are just two. One of the hummingbirds is this incredible emerald green and the other is blue almost purple.

We have hummingbird feeders that hang with the sugar water for them. If you want to make them sugar water use Cane Sugar and mix 4 parts water with 1 part sugar in a pan. Heat it up until the sugar dissolves. You can find inexpensive hummingbird feeders in the stores that look a bit like flowers. They are usually red as hummingbirds love the color red.

We have a lot of milk weed in our yard that we've been working on getting into one area and expanding on it. It is amazing for the butterflies and the hummingbirds love it as well.

The hummingbird brings light energy and happiness to your life. Just as it zips around faster than the eye can see at times it brings this playful zippy energy to you. The hummingbird helps you to adapt to anything and to be resilient while keeping a playful attitude.

Have a magickal day today!

Planting Trees to Honor the Earth

Planting Trees to Honor the Earth

As Wiccan and Witches we partner with Mother Earth as we walk our life. Something that's really important is planting trees for the future generations and to help heal our Earth.

When I moved into my house we had several trees that were really aging. As the years went by they actually wound up being a threat to the house. I was unbelievably upset at taking them down but I knew I had to as they were really posing a risk to myself and my children. My bedroom and Melody's bedroom were both under them.

When Earl moved in we started really working in the yard and making it "our oasis" as we call it. One of the things that we did was invest in fruit trees. We waited until the end of the season each year and bought at least one fruit tree. We've been doing this for the last three years and I currently have 5 fruit trees in my yard and one decorative one all that have been planted within the last three years. I am not sure we will be able to do it this year as our house can only support so many trees! We've also worked with several other baby trees that were starting to grow to make sure that they have their chance to grow.

Plant trees where you live. Fruit trees are amazing to have, flowering decorative trees are incredible for the bees, invest in trees for your home if you can. You will find that there are a lot of organizations that you can donate trees as well. You may want to ask a town or a local park if you can donate a tree. Every tree helps!

Happy September!

Original Artwork by Idehl

Happy September!

It's my favorite month of the year! I adore September. The weather is always gorgeous, the nights and early mornings are chilly to break up the heat of Summer and for some reason the sky is almost always a gorgeous blue color in this month in New England and it seems like there aren't as many clouds.

This is often a big month for Pagan and Wiccan festivals so be sure to keep your eyes open for any local events going on near you. I know in our area we have a lot of Medieval festivals this time of year which are always fun if you get the chance to go.

September 1 - 3 - Labor Day Sale at the shop.

September 6 - My birthday! ( I had to add it in there) :))

September 7 - Neptune opposition. Neptune will be

September 9 - New Moon in Virgo

September 14 - Ellen Dugan's birthday

September 21 - International Day of Peace

September 21 - 23 - Mabon (dependent upon your tradition is when you will celebrate)

September 23 - The Autumn Equinox

September 24 - Full Harvest Moon. This Moon is known as the Full Harvest Moon as it is closest to our Autumn Equinox.

Have a magickal day!

Lucky Kitties

Did you know that cats are considered lucky in many cultures? How many of you are familiar with a Maneki Neko?

Image result for maneki neko

Now that you have seen a picture I bet many of you recognize this kitty. He is known as the fortune kitty in Japanese or the beckoning cat. Many of you who have seen him know that usually his paw waves up and down.

Did you know black cats are generally considered good luck in Britain and Japan? For those of you in Britain have you heard this? Here in the States we are working hard to remove the "unlucky" stereotype of them. One of my kitties is a black kitty and she is amazing. Her name is Luna.

The reason for today's post is that I have a fun and simple sort of divination exercise for you.

Throughout your day count how many kitties you see. Look for kitties running across the road, sleeping in various sunny places, hanging out with their owners, wherever you can find them. The more kitties that you find during the day the better day you will have. You will find that you are especially lucky if you find an all white one or an all black one.

Have fun with it!

I've heard that orange means you will have a relaxing day. Perhaps that corresponds to their personality. I have an orange kitty who is so calm and relaxed.

Just in case you have just joined Daily magick I currently have 6 kitties that have chosen to call my home their home. They are all rescues. All of them are related except one. I have the Mama kitty and she lives with us now and all are fixed. We rescued two of her litters with two each. Then I have my Loki who we found in the middle of the road. I love them all. They are all unique and all have such unique personalities.

That's Loki. I had a particularly hard challenge in my life and many of you know as I work with my guides all the time I love asking them for signs. This was something extra hard so I said that I wanted a male orange kitty as a sign. I figured I would see a picture of one in passing in the next couple of days or at a shelter? I was on my way to fireworks and he was in the middle of the road having dinner. He happily came with us, most likely as he had a full tum and has been purring by my side ever since. He was about 6 weeks, super tiny when I got him. I saw the Mama and the rest of the kitties which we reported. I'm not sure if they ever were able to get them. We have a decent sized feral population in our area. Loki is amazing. He goes everywhere I go and loves snuggles. He's amazing as are all of the kitties I am lucky to live with.

Have a magickal day today! Look for those kitties!

Childhood Magick

Childhood Magick

How many of you remember being little and being very aware of magick everywhere. Perhaps it was the man in the jolly red suit who came down your chimney with gifts each Christmas, or the bunny who left eggs everywhere and maybe a basket. How many of you spend summer days chasing fairies and looking for the many magickal things that you found in books out in the wilderness? Do you remember coloring for hours listening to music or chasing butterflies in a field. How about picking flowers to bring home and share with Mom? Oh! How about the song of the Ding Dong cart! I think some of you call them other names but ice cream carts? Can you remember the song they played as they drove through the neighborhood and all the kids chased it? Do you remember Halloween at school? We use to have haunted houses in our school and everyone was able to dress up.

Spend a bit of time thinking about all the magickal things and things that use to make you happy as a child. Make a list, look through some old pictures, bring back those happy memories.

Choose one or two things from your list to do today. Bring a bit of the magick of your childhood back to you today. Watch how your cheeks hurt from smiling as you bring back that memory and participate in something that you use to love as a child.

Have a magickal day!

Evocation and Invocation

Evocation and Invocation

Many of you are probably familiar with the Evocation of the Witch and the Invocation of the Goddess below. Both were written by Silver Ravenwolf, who is one of the first authors I started reading so many moons ago. I love both of these and have them in my Book of Shadows.

To invoke is to call something to manifest within a person place or thing. The word evocation means to call something to show itself. They are really quite similar and often are interchangeable with the word call. Both of these are wonderful to use during rituals or even before a spell to help you with raising your energy and vibration. I personally love the evocation of a witch as I feel it's very powerful and uplifting.

Evocation of the Witch
Silver Ravenwolf

I am one with the universe.
I am nothing and I am everything.
I am the stars and the moon
The seas and the storms
The breath of life
The alchemical change
The living and the dead
I am!I am the power and the joy.
I am the spirit that dances.
I am the magick and the priest
The Witch and the sorceress
The angels and the elements
Omnipotent
Omnipotent
I am!I am the past, the present, and the future.
I am the void
And I am the manifestation of my desire.
I am!

Invocation Of The Goddess
Silver Ravenwolf

I call thee down, O my great Queen
To enter my body
And commune with my spirit.
Be with me now as I fulfill my destiny
And work magick
In accordance with your will.
So mote it be.

Have a magickal day!

The Happy Stone

Today I have a really simple idea for you. My son brought it home for me several months ago now and I immediately fell in love with it. I call it my happy stone and it sits on my desk right in front of me every day.

It's a large smooth stone, the type that you would likely find in your travels on any given day. He gave it some hair and some glitter and used a marker to draw a face. Every time I see it I can't help but smile. I know this one is particularly special to me because my little one made it. If you have children this is something wonderful to have them make for you.

If you don't, you can make a special one for yourself. Go out on a walk and find a special stone that calls for you. You want to choose one that is smooth so that it's easier to decorate. Put that simple smile on it's face and decorate it any way you wish. Keep it close by so that it makes you smile.

You may also want to make some to leave in various places. Tuck them around town at the local park, maybe in the cereal isle of the grocery store where it may catch a little one's eye, or hidden around schools or other public buildings. Tuck them anywhere you can and see if they become special for someone else as well. I know mine gives me lots of smiles. :))

Have an amazingly magickal day!

Carry a Bit of Sunshine In Your Pocket

How many of you are enjoying Summer?  I've been soaking it up while working with my herbs for this year. This stone is a beautiful stone to celebrate the summer season and this amazing weather that we have.  For those of you in Australia, this is a wonderful stone to carry with you through the upcoming colder months to remind you of the sunshine. It's really sunshine in your pocket.

Sunstone is an absolutely beautiful gemstone that has an amazing golden sparkle to it. There are actually two types of sunstone. The first is a natural feldspar, that typically comes from India. It looks a lot like an orange opal. The second is an andesine feldspar covered with Copper. This type is called the Oregon sunstone. It is actually the state stone of Oregon. That variety is usually darker because of the copper within the stone.

Sunstone helps you to become aware of your own self-healing powers. For all of us, this is an amazingly powerful strength. When you walk your path you are constantly working on self awareness and finding and honoring your true self. When you do that it's very important to be able to heal yourself as well. This stone will help you do that. As you confront any issues from your past that you may have issues with hold onto this stone and let it's positively glowing energy wash over you in waves of positive energy to heal you. Sunstone will help you to find your true self and live your life more accordingly to that.

Psychologically sunstone is a very uplifting stone. It helps one to be more positive, cheerful, and have a better temper. It can be effective in helping to alleviate depression. This is a great stone to charge with positive energy in the sun, and carry on you to help you anytime you feel negative energy trying to creep in. If you need a boost of self-confidence this is a wonderful stone for that as well. It's positive energy is also very helpful for fatigue and can help to provide energy and stamina when you need it. It can stimulate the vegetative nervous system, and help all of your organs function properly. It is also helpful for the heart, back, eyes and kidneys. You should cleanse sunstone once a month under lukewarm water and recharge it by placing it in the sunlight.

Much Love and Many Blessings
