Merry Meet :))) Full Moon Blessings! Tonight is our final Blue Moon until 2020! We had so many of them last year and this year.

This has been a very intense beginning of 2018 which I believe you are going to find the energy slows down a bit tonight as we conclude our Full Moon duo for this year. This is our first Full Moon of Spring so you are going to find it brings you some refreshing energy as well which I'm quite sure all of you will welcome.

Libra in our Full Moon this evening is surrounding us with friends and family and strengthening our social skills and bonds which will help us navigate this time. So make sure you schedule some extra time with your loved ones. Not only will it help to nourish you personally but you may also find that they may be able to help you on your path. If you have anything that you need to be outgoing for, tonight's energy will help you out with that. If you have relationships that you want to work on you may find that this energy that Libra is bringing us will help as well.

Make sure that you are really paying attention to your intuition over the next couple of weeks. Go slow with it. The next couple of weeks are not a time for quick decisions or commitments. Make sure you are considering everything and really taking the time to tap into your intuition to assist you with what you are doing.

I have a couple of things that I wanted to give you today to make sure that you are ready.

Spell Ingredients - If you are a Daily Magick member you will be receiving a special mini ritual for tomorrow's Full Moon. For tomorrow I designed a simple but powerful spell for you designed to help you capture the courage and strength that tomorrow's Full Moon is bringing us. How many of you have a Bath and Body work's near you? If you do they have a hand cream and body wash that is called Happiness in their aromatherapy line. It contains Bergamot and Mandarin. I have the hand cream on my desk all the time. Grab yourself one or both of them for tomorrow's spell if you can. The first part is for the ritual shower, the hand cream would be a boost for after that you can use after tomorrow.

If you cannot get these don't worry! You're looking for a body wash that has bergamot in it or is citrus scented. If you can grab a hand cream that matches that's an added nice bonus for you.

You also want an orange candle. This can be any size you wish.

When I was little I remember looking for a Blue Moon because I loved the Moon and thought that surely a Full Moon that was blue would be the most beautiful sight to see. I also thought it would be magickal of course. I always looked for magick when I was little. I was partially right in that the Blue Moon does have extra magickal energy. It unfortunately does not have a beautiful blue appearance on the night it happens.

I think all of us have heard the phrase "once in a blue moon." It typically gets used for things that happen on a rare occasion. In fact there is evidence in history going all the way back to the 1500's when people referred to the Blue Moon as a rare occasion. That's the earliest written reference that I saw in a pamphlet by William Roy and Jeremy Barlow. In a conversation between two characters, one says, “Yf they say the mone is blewe/We must believe that it is true.” I'm sure if we looked hard enough we would find it goes back much farther than that.

A Blue Moon occurs any time we have more than one Full Moon in a month. The only month that you will never find this in is February as there simply aren't enough days in the month to have this happen. Historically the definition of a Blue Moon was an extra Full Moon in any given season. So why did they call it a Blue Moon?

People have been naming the Moons for a long long time. Depending on where you are and what you believe is what the Moon is called. Names like Snow Moon, Flower Moon and Cold Moon helped them to keep track of where they were in the year, for us it helps us to keep track of the Wheel of the Year. What in the world do you do when you have an extra Moon in there? You can see how this could cause complications. That extra Full Moon took on the name Blue Moon.

I was taught in my training that on the night of a Blue Moon the energy is twice as powerful. If you need to work with magick on the night of a Full Moon the night of the Blue Moon will definitely give it an added kick helping to ensure the success of what you wish to do! I was also taught to look for rare events happening around you during the day before, during and after a blue moon. It's a great time to look for things that seem "out of place."
