Aeromancy or Cloud Divination

Aeromancy or Cloud Divination

Aeromancy has a very long history, it is actually one of the oldest forms of divination. It makes perfect sense as we have long been fascinated by weather. Just as the ancient Greeks and Romans believed that the Gods controlled their weather they also believed that it showed signs of the Gods emotions towards them, hence how it came to be used as a tool to fortell the future by them as well. The word Aeromancy comes from the Greek words for air, "aero" and divination, "mateia." Aeromancy is the use of clouds and the weather to predict the future. 

 As a child did you ever lay down and just watch the clouds go by? Did you spend time looking at them and trying to find recognizeable shapes in them? That's a step in Aeromancy. Now, you can take this a step further by asking the divine to be with you, and asking a question, then looking for shapes in the clouds as an answer to your question. This is just one of the many methods that fall under this category of divination. There are actually several divination methods that fall under Aeromancy.  

They are as follows:

 - Anemoscopy is a method of divination done by observing patterns in wind direction and intensity.

 - Nephomancy is the method of divination where movement of the clouds ins interpreted.

 - Ceraunoscopy is a method of divination where thunder and lightning is interpreted.

 - Chaomancy is the interpretation of aerial visions. It can sometimes use cloud shapes but most often uses the appearance of comet tails.

 - Meteormancy is the divination method by meteors and shooting stars. , divination by meteors and shooting stars.

So the next time the weather is nice out. Grab a blanket and get comfy. Ground yourself and relax your breathing into a meditative state. Then think of a question that you want to ask. Close your eyes and concentrate on that question. Then open your eyes and look to see if you get an answer. :)))

Surround Yourself With Love

Surround Yourself With Love

This is a spell to help surround yourself with loving energy.

What You Will Need

- lavender scented candle
- apple cinnamon tea (celestial seasonings has a brilliant brand of it if you don't want to make it)
- fresh cinnamon sticks if you want for the tea
- Piece of rose quartz

Make yourself a cup of apple cinnamon tea

Find a comfy spot where you can relax and have some quiet

Light the lavender scented candle.

Take a moment to enjoy the scent of the candle and the scent and taste of the tea. Relax just enjoying the taste of your tea for a few moments.

Slow your breathing. Work your breathing into a steady rhythm. Breath in for the count of 5 and out for the count of 5. Concentrate on just your breathing and let everything else just fade around you. With each exhale, breathe out any negative emotions. With each breath in, draw it into your heart chakra and breathe in light, love and positive energy. Just sit and work with this for a few minutes until your heart chakra is tingling. Once you feel relaxed take a few moments and sip your tea. Enjoy how it feels to be relaxed in this moment with your heart chakra open.

When you are ready take your rose quartz into your hands. Feel the energy of it pulsating between your palms. Now take the calming energy that you feel. Bring it through your heart chakra and into the crystal. Then say the following:

"I charge this crystal with love and light
to help surround me day and night


protect me from the dark despair
make sure to always cleanse my air


fill my days with lots of love
shine your energy down on me from up above


With this I declare it be,
this crystal charged with love and light for me


So Mote It Be!"

You can keep this crystal on you any time and work with it to help you keep love and light around you. You can recharge it on the full moon and cleanse it in the light of the moon as well. For those of you who work with shields, I would also highly suggest a rose colored shield when you wish to surround yourself with love. It will wrap you in a loving energy, but that energy will also project which helps to draw it to you.

Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz

Rose Quartz is quartz that is a pale pink color hence it's name. :)) Rose quartz is best known for it's amazing ability to heal issues with the heart. It's actually often called the "love stone" because of this. It's wonderful to help reach unconditional love both of yourself and in your relationships. This is one of the first crystals I started working with. Right when I picked up my first piece of it I noticed the calm loving energy that comes from it. It's like a warm cup of tea on a cold night . Recently I've been using this crystal to help me in working with my heart chakra, opening it, and breathing through it. I've also used it to help with shielding. I have several different shields that I use but one that I will use is my basic bubble shield. At times I will change the color of it to a soothing rose cover and just surround myself with a blanket of loving energy. It helps to sooth me and I also love the effect it can have on others around me. Something for you to try. ;)

If you sleep with it under your pillow it can help to promote soothing dreams. It is a wonderful stone to have on you during tough emotional times. It can help to keep negativity away. It can also help you to forgive yourself and find your self-confidence. This also is a really nice stone to have on you if you are thinking about becoming pregnant or if you are pregnant. Not only can it help with fertility and is said to prevent miscarriages but it also can help ease the emotions that are caused from pregnancy. If you are working on self-healing this stone is a very gentle stone that can be wonderful to help with healing past issues as well. If by any chance you've not worked with rose quartz yet, this is one of those that I consider a staple for anyone who wants to work with crystals.
